I visited this facility
We visited the Solstice Senior Living at Palatine. It seemed nice. However, the community seemed a little older than other places. I only met the people who did the tour; they were very nice. Everything was carpeted there. They had a nice seating area outdoors that they offer for the residents. There was a card game going on.

I visited this facility
We visited. The rooms were too small for us. We saw the library and the dining room. It was clean and very well kept. The staff that we saw were very friendly and very nice. We did not have a meal there. It did not make an impression on me.

I visited this facility
It was nice and clean, and people were friendly. The apartments had a little sitting room, a separate bedroom, and a nook area for a kitchen. It looked great and was in a good location. The grounds were very clean.

I visited this facility
Solstice Senior Living at Palatine was OK. The atmosphere wasn't as good. The rooms were OK. They're older than the other community. It wasn't as updated, but they were able to have ovens and stoves in their rooms (which wasn't allowed at the other community). The staff member was alright, but they weren't as friendly as the other place. There were no people walking around. The dining area was fine and the food was good. They didn't have an inviting feeling when you first come in.

I Visited This Community
I didn't like Tamarack. It had the damp smell of old people. The staff was OK. The apartments were small but OK. Everything was fine, except for the smell.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
My dad is in Tamarack. It’s a fine assisted living place, and they take care of him. The meals are fine. Everything is fine. I don't have any complaints, and my dad doesn’t complain about anything. They offer a lot of stuff, but my dad doesn’t get involved in too many things. He’s best left alone. The food is overcooked once in a while, but old people don’t complain. He has a separate bedroom, and the help is friendly.

I Visited This Community
Tamarack is an old place. They don’t have a swimming pool or a facility for water aerobics. Everybody was very nice to us; however, we'd really like a pool, and that was that thing that put us off. The staff who accommodated us was very nice, cordial, and answered all of our questions. The food was excellent.
