I visited this facilityReview of The Grand at Twin Lakes

The Grand at Twin Lakes is fairly new. It used to be a motel. I think it's probably only 5 or 6 years old. I visited it and had a talk with the fellow there. He took me around and showed me three or four rooms. What I liked about it was the outdoors. There's a lot of open air and a lot of nature. If I were to move out of my current place, that's where I'll go. The fellow who was Italian like myself, we hit it off immediately. He made me feel very welcome. I saw the place where you walk in, I saw the dining room, and I saw the lounge. The fellow talked about a few activities. It gave me an idea that all the senior centers have a lot of similar activities. The staff was wonderful, very friendly, very honest, very open, and answered all my questions. I saw two ladies at the desk, and they seemed very professional and very lovely. I didn't see anybody else, just those three staff members. Everything was clean and very nice.

We visited The Grand at Twin Lakes. I really liked it. Whoever I met was very good. We looked at one-bedrooms; they were quite nice. We saw the dining area, which looked nice too. They have a gathering area inside the door. They also have daily happy hours for the residents, which is nice too. We did not eat there, but they offered us cookies, which were very good.

My mother-in-law has moved into The Grand at Twin Lakes. So far everything is good. The facility is very nice and very clean. Bridget S., the lady we have dealt with the most at The Grand at Twin Lakes, is absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend them. My mother-in-law seems to be very pleased with what's going on. She seems to be doing OK with the activities. She doesn't seem to be having any problems. The apartment is fantastic. It is very clean, very new, and modern-looking. It is not old. It seems to be great. It is big and spacious.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past residentReview of The Grand at Twin Lakes

We chose Grand at Twin Lakes for my father because I have a sister who lives about ten minutes away from them. It's like a hotel. The amenities are fine. They have a nice dining room. They have no in-house physical therapy, but the staff is good. The room he is in is fine. Everybody is very professional, well trained, and nice to him. The chef has come out of the dining room and asked how the food was and it was very good. The facility is very good, but it's right on a busy highway. I prefer a little bit more of a secluded location, which this is not, but the important thing is the staff is trained, professional, courteous, and respectful, and that's what they certainly are.

I Visited This CommunityReview of Solstice Senior Living at Palatine

I didn't like Tamarack. It had the damp smell of old people. The staff was OK. The apartments were small but OK. Everything was fine, except for the smell.
