I went to Brookdale Orland Park. I didn't feel like they were taking enough COVID precautions. I also felt like when the staff was showing us around and eventually sat with us that it was extremely salesy and somewhat pushy. I only saw one room, and it was very small. We weren't really able to see much because of COVID. The facility itself seemed fine. The finishes and everything were all top end. The girl at the front desk was great. The girl that was trying to get us to be interested in the place was nice, but too pushy.

We chose Brookdale Orland Park for Mom because the staff is very attentive and very helpful, it has a very warm environment, and they try to make things as comfortable as they can. She's now in memory care, so it's more one-on-one attention, which she needs because she's pretty lost right now. She started off in assisted living, but that didn't last long. She went up to memory care because they knew that she needed more care and more one-on-one attention. They weren't available to provide that in just the regular assisted living, which we pretty much assumed would be the case (they were just trying to see if it would work out that way). We're glad that she's in memory care because she needs that. I'm pleased with the care and the attention that she gets. The staff is concerned and when there was an issue, they texted my sister and notified us right away. If she isn't going to take her medication, they have us talk to her so she takes it. They are trying to do everything possible to make her comfortable and I feel very comfortable with what they are doing as well.

I did not like Brookdale Orland Park at all. It's very dark and it had an odor. You felt like you were in a nursing home, not in assisted living. I just didn't care for it. However, the location was good and easy to get to.

My father is very pleased with Brookdale Orland Park. Everyone is extremely helpful. He really likes all of the workers and has been extremely positive about them. They joke around with him. If you need something, they're always there to help him out. The only thing he complains about is the food, but I think they all complain about that. Other than that, he's very pleased. The grounds are very good and very clean. He's in a shared room, but that roommate left, so he's been by himself which has been good. It's spacious and clean. He seems to be very happy there. He's not participating in many activities, but there's always something going on.
