My mom likes it, and she has been doing well so far. She said the staff is really helpful. We chose it because it was closer to my sister. The meals are included there, and they do some games or do the basics, which is what she needs -- something to keep her busy and have her socialize. She also says the food is excellent.

I feel that Arbor Terrace is a place to consider if you know for sure that the person going to reside there won't need anything further than just Assisted Living. If they needed something more than that, eventually, you would have to move them to another facility. The activities here are very good and the pool is right outside for residents to enjoy and it's heated. The residents are nice and when you are new they will welcome you, however, they already have their clicks from established friendships. Some staff members are GREAT and give the residents much attention and some are just status quo. The Maintenance department is excellent. Physical Therapy is right on the premises and are very attentive. Food is decent, however, could be better. Concierge is manned by great people as well. Overall, I would recommend giving Arbor Terrace your consideration, however be sure they have all that you need and want and ask a lot of questions.

I don't remember being totally impressed with Arbor Terrace. The staff was very nice; that's one of the good things about it. The people were very friendly and were very willing to talk to you. I was looking for a 2- or 3-bedroom, but they could only show me a 1-bedroom at that time because they didn't have any vacancies. Also, I found the location to be a little bit woody for me, and you have to use a golf cart to get around. Since it was woody and forest-like, I don't think I would want to travel around on a golf cart. I wasn't totally impressed. The place itself was very nice and the amenities were OK, but all I saw the residents doing were sitting and not moving around. I wasn't quite ready for that little activity. They have a library, which was nice, but I didn't see anybody in there. They said they have a happy hour place, but it seemed like it was a place where they do other things as well, and they would have to clear it out for happy hour. Also I didn't see anything beverage-wise that would make it really "happy." They said that my meeting would be during lunch there, but once I got there, they didn't offer me any lunch.

Arbor Terrace Peachtree City was pleasant. I really liked it. The staff was really nice. The apartments were beautiful. They have a pool and they have days when they go out and do other things. They have nice trees. It looked like a really great community. I loved everything about it. If I had to choose for myself, I would pick it. The place was beautiful. The grounds were beautiful. It was really shady. The only problem was the price.

Somerby of Peachtree City was nice. It's basically new, and they have a lot of things they haven't put in place yet. It's kind of cold. The facility looked pretty. They have really nice amenities and the staff was really good. I liked the front desk person.

We moved into Somerby of Peachtree City. They're helpful and attentive. We have two rooms, our own furniture, and a small kitchen. The food is good, there is exercising, swimming, and games in the afternoon. However, it's too expensive.

Very poorly managed, no follow up on issues or complaints. Executive Director is virtually non-existent; when she is in the building she is constantly on a personal call on her cell phone - not a good example for employees. Healthcare is good, but doesn't make up for lack of activities and extremely poor management. Corporate office has been notified of issues at this facility and continues to ignore them.

Medicaid is a federal-state program providing health coverage to over 65 million low-income people across the country, including pregnant women, people with disabilities and elderly adults. In Georgia, many basic health care needs are covered by Medicaid, such as physician services, surgical services and hospital services. Through two waiver programs, the state offers coverage for assisted living and other long-term care options. These two waivers are described in detail below. In Georgia, seniors who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) are automatically eligible for Medicaid. Other Georgia seniors may be eligible for the program if they:
VA Aid and Attendance Allowance The VA Aid and Attendance allowance may help veterans and survivors with the costs of assisted living. This allowance is offered to seniors who receive a basic VA pension and need help with activities of daily living. Seniors who earn too much to receive the basic pension may still qualify for the Aid and Attendance allowance. For veterans with no dependents, the basic VA pension pays a maximum of $13,535 per year, while seniors who qualify for the Aid and Attendance allowance may receive up to $22,577. This additional $9,042 can be very useful when paying for assisted living costs. It’s important to note that a senior’s VA pension will vary depending on their income; the more they earn, the lower the pension will be. To apply for this increased pension amount, contact your local regional benefit office. For more information, call the Department of Veterans Affairs at (844) 698-2311. Optional State Supplementation The federal government provides monthly cash assistance to seniors with low incomes and few assets through the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. Single seniors may receive a maximum of $771 per month through this program, while couples may receive up to $1,157 per month. Some states, including Georgia, provide additional funding to SSI recipients who live in assisted living facilities. This top-up funding, called optional state supplementation, can be used to help pay for room and board. In Georgia, individual seniors can receive a maximum of $20 per month, while couples can receive up to $40. To learn more about this top-up funding, visit your local Social Security office or call (800) 772-1213.
