Heron East is an assisted living community located in Sarasota, FL, just west of Sarasota Springs. This community has a variety of things for residents to do, from Brain Health University to in-house Tai chi. Off-site activities like beach volleyball are also planned, and the staff provides a healthy environment where residents are encouraged to have fun and be active. For residents that want to leave the community, such as for appointments, transportation is provided. Family members say the staff are very attentive to their loved one's needs.

It was more assisted living, but my dad was not at that stage yet, so that's why I picked another more independent community. The staff member who helped me during the tour was super nice and very knowledgeable. The rooms were a little small, and they only had a studio set up, so it was just one room with a bathroom. The dining room was very nice and everybody ate at their own little tables. I didn't try the food.
