My dad is not very happy at Village Place because he is not ready for an assisted living place. Everything initially seemed good, but when my mom died and when we moved him in, it was too many transitions too soon. He is now suffering from depression. The place itself is fine, but my dad is not ready. My dad's apartment suits his needs very well. The staff is very kind and very helpful. We have never had any problem with them. He doesn't complain about the food. They offer activities every day, but with my dad's depression, he doesn't participate with anything right now. The place itself is very nice. They have activities every day, which is great; however, my dad personally doesn't want to do any of them. It is sad because they have a lot to offer. They have their own in-house doctor, which is excellent. Everybody has been very kind. However, they don't do a very good job cleaning my dad's apartment. There always seems to be lots of things all over the floor. They don't vacuum enough. My dad is always pointing it out to me. Also he feels that they leave a lot of lights on and waste electricity.

Village Place was pretty nice, but it wasn't what I was looking for. They were engaging all the residents The rooms and layout were very nice. I looked at their cafeteria while they were eating.

My husband seems to be very happy at Village Place Retirement. The facilities are very well taken care of and clean. The food is nice. The staff is fantastic. My husband may not know what's going on, but I do, and I'm impressed with this community. His room is nice and clean. It's expensive, but you get pay what you're paying for.

Village Place was clean and friendly, but my patient didn't like the makeup of the room. It was just a personal preference. They gave us lunch and the food was good.

Village Place is a small assisted living home. It is not very medical-like -- which a lot of them are -- and that is what's very nice about the place. The residents are very friendly, and they have a lot of activities. They have doctors and nurses that come into the community, which has been great. They take them on Wednesday to the bank and to Wal-Mart. A group of them go out for lunch every Friday. My mom really enjoys that, and it has gone well. However, my mom said the food was wonderful when she arrived, but it has gone downhill.

Village Place Retirement was very nice. I really liked it because it was divided up, so you had smaller groups. The dining halls were by communities, so it had a smaller residential feeling instead of a big hotel feeling. The people were all nice, and the residents all seemed friendly and happy. The dining area was small with a couple of tables in it, only for the people in your neighborhood, which was a good thing.
