I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility
We chose Belvedere Commons of Fort Walton Beach because they seem to have a better atmosphere than other places. We also like the staff, and it's one of the reasons we went there. They serve a big lunch and a light dinner, the food looked appetizing, and my mom is eating a lot. The cleanliness of the place is good. They dont have as many amenities as other places, but my mom has everything she needs. They also have activities for the residents, although they don't have a separate activities room. They're among the most expensive senior places we've looked at, but they give you a flat rate and I don't expect the price to go up.

I Visited This Facility
Belvedere Commons of Fort Walton Beach seemed to care about their patients and they had a very balanced program. I only met with one staff member and she was very pleasant and informative. The location was nice. It's very close to a hospital. I only saw one room, and it was average, clean, and appeared to be well-maintained. They were doing exercises when I was there.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
Belvedere is clean and has a caring staff. They have a lot of things to keep the residents active and involved four to five days a week. People from the community come in and play music with them. They have guys that play guitar, accordion, and piano. A lady comes in and sings acapella while they sing along. They also have karaoke. Today, they were letting the residents bake a cake. They also play games, like bingo, and my aunt loves the sing-alongs. Yesterday was Memorial Day, so they had some military come in in their uniform and did a special ceremony for a resident who had special commendations. They gave him a ham and did a program for the whole group. They each introduced themselves and where they're from, led them in God Bless America, and had somebody play patriotic songs for them. My aunt really loved that. They have a special dining room for the families. I have eaten some of the food there, and it has been good and appropriate. If I have a question and the staff can't give me the answer right away, they would get me the answer and get back to me or have a member of the staff come to me if they don't have the answer. My aunt feels very comfortable. They offer assisted care all the way to the Alzheimer's unit. We're happy with Belvedere Commons, and my aunt says it's been amazing.
