I like that Grand Villa of Englewood has a swimming pool. They give you a break on the cost for the first year, which is nice. The layout of the rooms there are about the same as his current community. They have more rooms on the ground floor, which I like. I would have loved to have my relative on the ground floor, but they seemed to think he'd fit in with the people on the second floor. They have a lot of nice things, like church services. However, my relative doesn't know how to look at the calendar. They also have bingo, and lots of activities for residents who are able to or want to join in. He enjoys meal time because he can talk to the other residents. I would rate them a four because it's an older community, and that makes a difference. As far as the staff, I only met the gentleman who showed me the rooms there.
We chose Grand Villa of Englewood for my step-father. It's a beautiful community. My mother didn't want to look anywhere else when she saw that place. They have a lot of good activities there, like they take them on trips to Walmart if they want to go, and they have movie nights, singing, Bible studies and a lot of things going on if people want to do it. The food is great, with big services and a lot of food. He seems very happy. He had a good-sized room with a beautiful bathroom. I guess the only downside is the cost.
The rooms at Grand Villa are better. I have an average room, but I could have more closet space. The shower doesn't have a very good handicapped stall. I had a boyfriend with me, and he went to use the shower, and he fell. They had to take him to the hospital because he couldn't get up. It was really bad; that part I didn't like. As far as the people, most of them are nice. I like the pool, and I like the daytime exercise that they have. They have a few more activities like pizza parties every once in a while, birthday parties once a month, movies on Saturdays and Sundays, and trips every week to Wal-Mart. That part was not bad. The food was a little bit better too. I like the way that the buildings are laid out because it's more open. The room is a little small but it's OK.
My mother is living in Grand Villa of Englewood. She was in assisted living before they transferred her to memory care. It's a very nice facility, well-kept, better than other facilities, but the value is reasonable. There's a high turnover of staff, and they're understaffed, but the people there are doing the best they can. They did not have any activity for Mother's Day.
I live at Grand Villa of Englewood. Everybody here is so friendly and helpful, and if you need anything, they're right there to help. They have lots of activities which I enjoy, and they have a swimming pool, which I enjoy in the summer. The facilities are good, clean, and well taken care of.
Grand Villa of Englewood is family-owned; it's like a little community with very good service. Everyone is very caring and seems to love their job. My aunt is very picky, but she loves the food there and thinks it's really good. The place is also very clean and there are lots of activities. I'm very happy with them.
I have been to Grand Villa of Englewood several times. It has a pool, and the units open to green spaces. I ate a good lunch there. The dining area is not large, but it's very homey. I saw people working on jigsaw puzzles. They have an activities room where they show movies and have tea dances.
We didn't like Grand Villa. We found the staff tp be short and rude, and they book too many people at the same time, so they didn't have time for us. They weren't friendly, the kind of harsh, and you had to walk outside to get to everything, so it was not a nice setup. It's too hot for old people to walk outside.
Our Grand Villa experience has been way better than I could have imagined. The entire staff is top notch, from maintenance, housekeeping, management, nursing staff, and the people who run the dining facilities. They really treat the residents with care and respect and are kind and gentle with them. The place itself is very nice. It doesn't have an institutional feel to it; it's more like a residential apartment complex with beautiful grounds that's almost like a quad of a small college campus, and everything is on one level. The residents all have to go out and get fresh air to get to the dining area. There's a covered walkway for them to pass through, and socialization is highly encouraged. The staff do everything they can to get them involved. Pricing is also good. They knock it out of the ball park.
Grand Villa of Englewood turned my husband down. I had actually put down a deposit, but they came down to evaluate him and they felt that his medical profile was just a little more than they wanted to deal with. He is diabetic. I took two tours and it looked excellent. It's very good. It is a smaller facility than where he is now, and it seems to be more family-like in their community there. I liked it very much because they had an excellent range of activities, more than any place I've been. The dining room was very nice. I ate lunch there, and the food was good. They have a little more choice too. All the staff members I met with were extremely helpful, very nice, and friendly.
Grand Villa of Englewood and its rooms were dingy and old. It hasn't been re-done in a long time. The facilities were fine, though, and everything was good. The activities were OK. The lady who runs the place and the people were nice. The dining room was very nice and pleasant.
