Here at Spring Village at Danbury we encourage residents to give us ideas about their recreational interests because this is their home and we want to add to their comfort and enjoyment. Our recreation program is filled with many interesting and varied activities from which to choose. Each week, residents enjoy coffee socials, exercise classes, Bingo, card games, challenging word games, painting classes and Wii games on our big-screen TV. We also offer regularly scheduled interdenominational services, musical entertainment and special events, such as antique car shows, pet therapy, wood working events, and Hawaiian Luau, complete with dancer.
We take out-trips to interesting places, such as local museums, plays, restaurants, seasonal sight-seeing tours, ice cream shops and in the summertime, we go to the City Center for different shows. We enjoy doing crafts, baking and gardening, and twice a month we have a non-denominational Bible Study.
To welcome new residents to our community, we have a monthly Welcome Tea Social. We also enjoy hearing suggestions from residents and their family members for additional recreational programming which can then be incorporated into our calendar. We are always open to new ideas!
Our residents are at a stage in their lives when they have the free time to socialize and enjoy activities. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere in which they can take advantage of a variety of activities and make choices which best meet their individual needs.

It was very nice and very friendly, but a little smaller than other places. I thought my dad would be better off in a larger place with more people, and this place had fewer rooms. On a room-to-room comparison and on a staff-to-staff comparison, they were equal. They did have a salon and a library, but I did not see a gym. Nevertheless, it was a very nice place.
The community was good and clean. The staff was very friendly. The entertainment room was very nice. They had an outdoor little garden seating area. The rooms were very nicely-appointed. Everything was great and was much better than I expected it would be.
It was lovely, and I liked how small it was. It was very clean and very personable. It seemed like they could really cater to the seniors' individual needs. There was no visible garbage around and the outside looked very nice. The only person I met gave me the tour, and she was wonderful, very knowledgeable, and interested in what your individual needs would be.
