Saratoga Retirement Community had multi buildings. My aunt felt somewhat claustrophobic in the building that would have been best suited for assisted living, and I think that had to do with the lighting. She very much liked the facility, but she's uncomfortable with the age of the facility, and the size of the elevators were too small. It was very lovely there though, and Laura, our host, was an outstanding assist for us. They had a range of styles. Their independent living with cottages and town homes had a pool associated with it, and the assisted living didn't have a pool but had a really nice gym that my aunt liked very much. The machines were designed where somebody with disabilities could have used them, so it was very adaptable and a super important amenity. Their dining room and dining hours were too restrictive for my aunt because she wanted to be able to have more socializing and not quite so much restriction. Their outdoor property, patios, and other amenities were so important to people who don't want to leave California and want to seek assistive living. They also offered transportation to different locations, like medical and dental appointments and banks.

Saratoga Retirement Community was wonderful and really nice. It was the best one I visited by far. The person there was superb and incredibly professional. The whole experience was very beautiful.

Saratoga was hard to get to, but once I got there, it was perfectly nice. The staff accommodated me very well. They had a little outdoor area that was fenced in so the patients could not get out. The rooms were okay.
