Meridian of Riverside was lovely and had lovely people. Had their prices been a little lower, I would have gone there. I really liked it. It was kept very well and the smells in the hallways were nice. Rick, the merchandise manager, was a lovely man and kept in touch with me. They had everything.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents used to be at the memory care of Meridian of Riverside. The staff was great and wonderful, but the cost was just prohibitive. The building was older, but they're around a courtyard which is convenient because they can just let their dog out. The food was not very good, and they didn't have many choices. They had a memory care program but my parents were too high-functioning for that. Instead of having one cost for the more needy partner and an additional add-on for the spouse, at Meridian they each had to pay the full fare and that wasn't right.

My mother is living at Meridian of Riverside. They seem to have a decent sense of community there. It's an older building, but it's clean. Their dining hall is not too bad. The residents have an emergency alert button. They have ones that they can wear around their neck so if they fall or slip, wherever they are, they can get assistance. I also like that they have LVNs on staff and not just caregivers. Their activities director is a 10-plus. She is very active and caring about the residents that live there. They have lots of activity going on for them all the time. The staff is very friendly. They're very informative. They keep me updated on things going on with my mother. They're doing a good job.

My mother is at Meridian of Riverside. It's very good, very clean, and all the staff members are very friendly and seem to really look out for the people who are living there. The rooms are very nice. Each room has its own private bathroom and she's in a single room because she qualified as a spouse of a veteran. They take the trash out of her room daily, they vacuum every other day, they clean her bathroom, and they change her bedding. Everything is fine. I don't have any complaints at all. They have several activities daily.

We moved my father-in-law into Meridian of Riverside in June. The place is excellent. I deal mainly with Debra, Marissa, and Vanessa. The staff is really caring and they have quite a lot of CNAs. My father-in-law has an alarm around his neck, when he has to use the restroom or needs to get up, he pushes that button and they usually respond in about 10 to 20 minutes, which is pretty good. They also take care of all his needs. They try to keep him independent, letting him feed himself as much as he can, and then they?ll just assist him to make sure he gets enough nutrition. We have a notebook on his bedside where his caregivers write down updates, things that he needs, or what's going on, like if he has a cold. He shares a room with another man, which is working out really good. The place is very clean and he enjoys the meals there. All the problems we've had have been resolved quickly. I really feel we were blessed to find that place. They have a garden area where Dad could sit outside and enjoy the sun. I really highly recommend the place to anyone.

I am very pleased with the care that my mom is getting at Meridian of Riverside. The food and people are excellent. The place is clean and doesn't have a nasty smell. Some of the residents there have some problems, but overall I’m very happy with it. The staff is very attentive and they have in-house activities, doctor runs, and store runs to malls on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Meridian of Riverside was nice and suitable for my friend. It was clean and well kept up. Everybody seemed to get along. The staff was good, explained things perfectly, took us on a tour, and showed us a nice room that had a view outside.

I wasn't satisfied with Meridian of Riverside. I didn't like the rooms because they're small. The staff member who took me on a tour was OK. It was fair. The place itself wasn't impressive. It is older but it is clean-looking.

Meridian of Riverside was a nice place and the staff seemed very professional. The tour was a good experience. It was a really clean place and the residents that were there seemed well taken care of. I can see that everybody is friendly and happy. They're just too expensive for us.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My mother used to be in Meridian of Riverside, but they asked her to move because she needed a higher level of care. It was clean, the people were generally nice, but the care was average. They're right on a busy street, so I didn't like that, but most people seem to be fine with it. It's a small place, but it's nice. My mother had a studio. It was very small and simple, but adequate.

I visited this facility

Meridian of Riverside was small and did not seem very well-maintained. The staff member who toured us had no idea how to talk to my mother and talked to her like she was a child. We ended up cutting the tour short. The rooms were not very big. I was not impressed.

I visited this facility

The lady at Meridian of Riverside showed me a room my mom could share with another lady, and it had stains on the carpet from the previous resident. It was disgusting. The rooms were not modernized and they didn't have a kitchen or even a sink. I didn't like this place at all. The staff seemed to be nice, but if they're not keeping the place clean, then they're probably not doing their job. They have a very small library, a nice TV room, and a very nice courtyard.

Meridian of Riverside was nice. The menu didn't look very appetizing, but it looked like a balanced diet. If the residents didn't want the food on the main menu, they could always ask for the alternative menu. They had a lot of small activity areas and areas for watching movies. The staff was very accommodating.

Meridian of Riverside looked sterile and cold, it wasn't a very welcoming kind of place. I saw their apartments, but they didn't excite me.

I don’t know where to start because every aspect of this place is so poorly managed. The worst thing is that the meds are not always provided as they should be--meds these people need to survive. They seldom answer the emergency button in a timely manner. I\'ve known residents who have had to wait for hours. The food is the poorest quality you can buy. It is so dry, you can’t eat it. The rolls and bread are old and dried out. If you get a sandwich the meat is so thin that you can’t taste the meat. Fourth, they are consistently short on help. I have heard these \"professionals\" yell at residents and literally gang up on them. It is very rude and difficult on these elderly people. The residents are afraid to say anything because the staff and management all stick together, and if they find out you called the state or the ombudsman, they retaliate. As for the reviews for this facility, they do not reflect how this place is run now. Most of the reviews are 2018 or before, when this place was called the Meridian. It was decent back then. Please read the latest reviews. I would hope you wouldn\'t put your loved one in Arlington Riverside Senior Community without looking into every aspect of this facility. Much of the information on their website is from when it was The Meridian. Lately, they\'ve been sprucing up the outside--I expect to draw more residents. Don\'t be fooled, the money could be so much better spent on decent food and enough help. When you\'re in your 80s and only a few years left, this is not the place you want to spend your last hours, especially if you need assistance. Very little assistance is provided in this \"assisted living\" facility because there simply is not enough staff. I could go on and on with the problems. Just make sure you know what you\'re getting into.

I have friends who have been in this facility for over a year. If I had the money, I would move them out in a heartbeat. Pre Covid 19 this place was terrible, now it is worse. They are consistently short staffed, the residents are treated poorly, and the food is not fit to eat. Every meal is carb-ridden, poorly cooked, and very poor quality. They do not get baths or showers on a regular basis. They used to have cable, but the facility cut it out making their lockdown even more uncomfortable. During Covid, they are not properly social distancing. Often the caretakers and management are not wearing masks when they interact with the residents. Sometimes, it is ten or eleven o\'clock before the residents get put to bed because they are so short-handed. This is not because of Covid--it was like that before hand as well. They have waited on the toilet after being seated on it for as long as 45 minutes before returning to help them. The residents have emergency buttons and callers to reach the caretakers, but they are often not answered. Sometimes they are left for hours without responding.
