Located in a beautiful part of La Mesa, our community provides the activities and social life that keep retirement fun, while also offering 24-hour services that make retirement easy.
Grossmont Gardens is one of the many exemplary communities owned and operated by Elmcroft Senior Living. At Elmcoft, our mission is to enrich the lives of everyone who lives with us and works with us by treating them all with dignity and respect while taking care of their individual needs.
From welcoming open spaces to an invigorating activity schedule, residents at Grossmont Gardens are sure to have their daily needs met, but in a way they find enjoyable. That's especially true
with our dining program, which features new culinary creations every day served in a restaurant-style atmosphere that promotes social interaction.
We also strongly encourage our residents to chase their life-long ambitions, which is the goal of Elmcroft's Second Wind Dreams program. No matter what item residents have on their bucket list, from reuniting with long-lost relatives to swimming with dolphins, we aim to make these dreams come true and show residents that their goals are still within reach!
When a new resident joins Grossmont Gardens, family members obtain peace of mind, knowing that their loved one will be fully taken care of. We encourage each resident to live as independently as possible, but any time assistance is needed - whether it's with getting dressed, taking medication regularly or any other daily task - we're here to help.
Specially trained staff members are available 24 hours a day to help with any task, or should an emergency arise. And those same staff members work every day to make life safer through programs such as Walking Tall, which is designed to reduce the risk of falling.
At Grossmont Gardens, we treat your family member like one of our own.

My mother was at Grossmont Gardens and she had a really great experience there. Everybody treated her kindly. The only negative comment I had is that their food quality declined. Back before COVID they had the weekly scenic drive where they had a bus and they would just get in a bus and go through scenic drives throughout San Diego county. There were weekly trips to a local mall for shopping, there were movie nights, and of course, Sunday religious services that she enjoyed very much. The staff there had been really, really great. We worked extensively with them over the years and they were always willing to accommodate or try and help out. They were actually more moderately priced than some of the others.
We went to Grossmont Gardens. The people were nice, and the facilities were nice, but their apartments were disgusting and depressing. All the common rooms were very nice, but we didn't like it because of the apartments. The place was certainly very clean. The staff seemed very nice and very accommodating, but all I met was the sales people. I was not impressed with the building, but the garden was lovely.
I liked the upbeat energy at Grossmont Garden. The restaurant and the rooms seemed really nice. You have a backdoor and a front door which is good for escapes of any kind. The living room is average. They have one or two 1-bedrooms, and the 1-bedrooms are pretty small. I understand that the next room up is a lot bigger, but I haven't seen that one yet. They have a riding class, and I ride, so that would be of interest to me. It seemed clean, and there weren't any senior smells. Just looking around, it looked clean. Our time was limited, but I'm planning to go back and check it out again. The staff was very friendly, the food was not that good, and the day we went, it was kind of dried out, and not that tasty, but the services were good. I was disappointed in that. It was not as nice, not as private, or as good as the others, but for my needs, I liked Grossmont Gardens the best.
My visit to Grossmont Gardens was fine. I went there a couple of times. Everything was fine. The rooms were not spacious but were not small either. It seemed like they could be comfortable. I have a couple of friends who live there, so that helps a lot. I like the location; it is good for me. The staff that helped us tour around the place was very good. It was a good experience.
