I'm in Scottsdale Village, and overall, it's good. The facility and rooms are nice and kept clean. The outdoors are very well taken care of. Everything is repaired immediately if anything goes wrong. The food is good.
Read more Scottsdale Village Square, A Pacifica Senior Living Community reviewsThe rooms were small at Scottsdale and inadequate for me, they don’t have a kitchen, so there’s no way of cooking food on your own. Although they provide all the meals, one doesn’t always want to do that, and their solution is to provide a microwave. I wasn’t too impressed with that. The facility was nice, including th...

She was very nice and walked us around the facility. It was very well maintained. The people looked very happy to be there and the employees looked very happy as well. Read more Scottsdale Village Square, A Pacifica Senior Living Community reviewsMy mom was at Scottsdale Village Square. The rooms and the apartments were large. It wasn't like a hotel, but it had larger outside grassy areas and larger outside visual areas. They had a recurring menu. They switched it around, but it was the pretty much the same thing. Sometimes it was something hard, chewy or crunc...
Read more Scottsdale Village Square, A Pacifica Senior Living Community reviewsIt is no wonder that Scottsdale, Arizona, consistently wins awards for being one of the most desirable cities in the United States in which to live. With approximately 330 sunshine-filled days a year, hot summers and mild winters, almost 200 local golf courses, approximately 100 art galleries, and a vibrant downtown core filled with restaurants, stores and lounges, it is easy to see why Scottsdale impresses residents and visitors alike.
In 2012, it made Bloomberg Businessweek’s list of most desirable American cities. In the same year, an analysis by 24/7 Wall St. listed Scottsdale as the eighth best-run city in America and AmericanStyle Magazine ranked it as a top Arts Destination. With an approximate population of 221,020, and 20% of these residents aged sixty-five or older, seniors who choose Scottsdale independent living are sure to be delighted by this exciting and intriguing city.
With an impressive selection of museums and art galleries in Scottsdale, art and history lovers will never run out of things to do. Visitors to the Heard Museum North Scottsdale can view American Indian art while the Musical Instrument Museum is a must-see for all music lovers. Art enthusiasts are sure to enjoy wandering through the Scottsdale Arts District, most likely stopping in at the numerous galleries, antique shops and tantalizing restaurants.
While Scottsdale offers a vibrant and exciting city experience, one never forgets that this is the American Southwest and the surrounding desert landscape is bound to impress. The McDowell Sonoran Preserve consists of 21,400 acres of desert wildlife and vegetation, including cacti and wildflowers. The sunset views from this desert oasis are truly stunning and residents of Scottsdale independent living will likely want to catch this spectacle of color.
The Scottsdale Senior Services offers a variety of resources and programs designed for older adults. This includes two senior centers: the Granite Reef and the Via Linda Senior Center. Residents of Scottsdale independent living can take part in recreational activities, a hiking club, card games, a lunch program and dances that are held twice a week and regularly attract over 100 seniors. Programs designed for older adults are also available at the Paiute Neighborhood Center; here, seniors can select from Friday night movie nights, potlucks, exercise classes and wellness workshops among many other activities.
The Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center is an award-winning hospital and medical research center. As a recipient of the Magnet hospital designation, it is recognized for providing top quality nursing care to its patients. Residents of Scottsdale independent living can be assured that this hospital is prepared to meet the needs of an aging population and offer, among its many departments, a certified heart attack and chest pain center, cardiology, oncology and a joint replacement center.
Residents of Scottsdale independent living will find it easy to get where they want to go in this delightful city. Three trolley routes take residents through the downtown core and nearby neighbourhoods for no charge. Seniors will especially want to take note of the free “Neighborhood Trolley” which connects passengers to shopping, hospitals and medical centers, the City Center Mall (which includes a library) and the city’s senior centers. The Valley Metro bus system also offers bus service throughout Scottsdale, including to the Scottsdale Airport and downtown areas of both Scottsdale and Phoenix. Passengers pay a small fee for this service.
Seniors get the best of both worlds when they choose to make their home in Scottsdale; it offers a lively downtown, complete with an impressive selection of restaurants, shops and galleries, but it also offers the beauty and peace of a desert setting. This is a city that truly delivers.
