Memory Care Community in Mohave County, Arizona

Silver Creek Assisted Living was nice, but it did not offer the medical care I needed, and so it wasn’t the right place for me. The staff was good and answered my questions. They used to be motel rooms, each room has its own bathroom, but the room they showed was under construction, so it did not look nice. They only have one elevator, and if that goes out, I can’t go up and down the stairs, and they have 3 levels.

I'm in Joshua Springs Senior Living and everybody that works here is great. I really like them. I'm up on top, and I have a nice, good sized living room, an area for a dining room table, my own bedroom and a bath. The kitchen is small. It has a sink, a cupboard, a refrigerator, and a microwave. We can't cook here other than with a microwave, but it's nice. We all have good windows to look out. They have a gym with two bicycles and a treadmill, a chapel, a theater, a room upstairs for painting and doing artwork, and a beauty parlor. We play bingo three times a week, we have tea and cookies and just talk, movies every Sunday night, and a bus that takes us to lunch every Friday, and they'll take you and pick you up to the doctors. It's very clean. The staff is excellent. The food is getting better because someone new took over. They have patios on both sides you can go out the patio at the front with nice seats.

My visit here was absolutely wonderful. Stephanie was great, and everything was really impressive. Everything about the place was extremely clean, it looked very comfortable and just had a very good and homey kind of feel. I very much like the amenities, specially the pool.

I looked at White Cliffs Senior Living, and that’s an impressive facility. I saw the floor plans, the different sizes and styles of the rooms, and there’s a nice variety, but you have to bring your own furniture. If you don’t have anything, they will help you get stuff to bring in. They have a poker room, bingo room, library, and a movie theater. They have restaurant-style dining, and each night there are two choices. Someone comes to the table to take their orders, and I thought that was pretty cool. I thought that was dignified for the residents as well. They have planned activities that the residents want to come down and participate in, and they have events. There’s a separate room, and you can rent that room if you have family members visit, so you can sit down to dinner together at the same table. They come and take your order too. Everybody that I talked to was super nice, they followed up, and they contacted me after the visit. The place was clean, I was totally blown away, and I might just move in there myself. They also have an inner courtyard with benches and grass, you can sit out there, and because it’s in the center, there are always shaded parts, except for at high noon of course.

I toured Flower's Assisted Living, and I did not like that facility. It felt like a prison, and the people were so drugged up that they were like zombies. It's a memory care facility, and that's understandable, but I find it very cluttered, and not welcoming. There wasn't much there. The staff seemed very rushed; it felt like we were taking time out of her day, and I did not get a very good, warm feeling. I don't want to be placed there.
