It was very nice. They did an assessment and determined that they couldn't meet my mother-in-law's needs. The person during the tour was lovely, very knowledgeable, and very nice. We saw the dining room and the room that she would have lived in and we liked it very much. It just wasn't going to work for her.

The people seemed very active and happy. A lot of them were leaving to drive somewhere when we were there. The rooms seemed very nice, and the dining area seemed good. The director who brought me around was very good, and answered my questions. They publish their activity schedule online, they have speakers come in, the residents can have garden plot they can take care themselves, and they have an area set aside for playing games and cards. They have an area with snacks and they are open to residents for the whole day.

My mom is in Brookdale. It is wonderful and staffed with people who are extremely good, very responsive, and very attentive to the patients. The food and meals are very good. They need larger rooms, however. She is comfortable in a furnished one-bedroom with a bathroom. She does not really take advantage of the activities.
