Severe shortage of staff, staff fight loudly. No activities for residents, poor food and lack of care. Fell and not found til next day. Avoid it.

The food here is terrible! My dad asks me to bring him dinner because he can\'t eat what they serve, nor does he get what he ordered. Air conditioning units in the rooms are loud and make it hard to sleep. They promised us that the room would be cleaned before he moved in, but a minimal amount was done. They could have at least cleaned the carpet.

I am a past client of this provider

In 2019 this was the BEST community around! The director was amazing along with the caring and qualified staff! Sadly the director left. In March of this year they put my relative on the porch along with all belongings and said they could not return. No notice was given. This person did nothing wrong. They were angry at me and retaliated on the resident. A transfer was being arranged before this incident and the staff refused to complete the necessary documents for the transfer. I strongly voiced my displeasure which resulted in their anger with me. I noticed in a recent review, a transition period for new residents with no family contact was mentioned. This is new and ludicrous! If you care for your loved one, find another place!

A lot has changed at Laurelwood since my mom has lived there. The interior is a little dated but in very good condition. The manager team has remained the same now for a couple of years and the food has finally gotten to be \'great\' according to my mom. She is always telling me how much fun she has at activities and looks forward to ice cream sundaes on Thursdays. We are pleased with the care that she gets and have had good correspondence with the Director of Nursing.

Windsor House is a good fit for my mother-in-law. It's kind of a smaller home with fifty residents and thirty-eight rooms. We like the fact that they have a mixture of residents there. She can be as independent as she needs to be but also get the care that she needs. They have a doctor on call and nurses come in. They're very attentive to the residents' individual needs in terms of food and lifestyle, so to speak. She's in a single room; she has a bathroom and a living space. They allowed us to bring furniture from her home, and they provide the cable setup in her room. She doesn't have a need for a telephone but they would provide one, and I think there's an extra charge for that. She liked the fact that for the price it was all inclusive; there are not a lot of add-ons because she's on a very limited budget. They play bingo, and they have activities every single day that they can participate in as they wish. Every day they can look at the board with a list of activities available that week, and the residents are allowed to participate if they're interested. They have a library, which is good since she likes to read; they have a living room with a fireplace where they can sit and read; and they have community dining -- it's a nice setting. The activities are a little limited right now due to the COVID shutdown. The staff I've interacted with are very nice, and the layout of the place is very nice.

My father is at The Legacy at Southpointe Drive. It's been good. It's a nice place for him. The staff is great. There has been a lot of confusion financially, but mostly everything has been resolved. They feed him three meals a day, and he has his own refrigerator and groceries. He is able to snack when he wants, so it's pretty convenient. They have a fitness center, but because of COVID, they really haven't been able to get him up there yet. I would like to look into some kind of therapy or somebody who can help him with his exercises because he's not doing them. When you walk into his apartment, there is a full-sized bathroom to the left. It has a walk-in shower, which is important, because he doesn't have a lot of strength in his legs. To the right, there's a mini-kitchen, a sink, a microwave, and a full refrigerator. He has a bed on one side, his chair on the other, and a TV hookup. It's a nice place, but it's kind of expensive.

My mother-in-law is at Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community, and so far, it is fine. She is not liking it, but she has some confusion issues, so we are just trying to figure out what the long-term plan is going to be. Because of COVID we can't go in and visit her, so I have not met any of them. It is just phone calls. But in the phone conversations, the staff has been fine. She is in quarantine right now, and it sounds like in a few days she will be able to come out of quarantine and move to another room, and she is excited about that. She seems to think that will make her happier. She seems satisfied with the food for the most part. She seems to be comfortable with her room. For rehab they are able to provide her with physical and occupational therapy and some cognitive rehab, and those are the main things we were looking for at this point.
