I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad has moved into Orchard Park. He doesn't have a problem with it. For the most part, he has three meals, a nice room, and a washing facility if your family wants to wash for you. I think it is in a good location and is a pretty good place. We don't have any problems at all. Orchard Park is a clean place. They have activities pretty much every day. The dining room is open. They will bring carts out when they serve juice first and then the salad, so you're not overwhelmed with a bunch of food. The residents are good, friendly people. The place is good. They keep the place well painted and taken care of.

I visited this facility

I have decided that Orchard Park is where I would like to be. It's strictly independent living and that's important to me. It's very nice, fancy, professional, and clean. Everything is very spic and span. The staff and the residents are friendly. There's a lot of art on the wall. The food is great.

I visited this facility

The tour at Brookdale Englewood Heights went fine. We also had a nice lunch, there. We were seated with some very nice people. The facilities were very nice; however, I was looking for something that was independent. The rooms were very clean, well appointed, and colorful. It's what you would expect in that kind of situation. It seemed more for assisted living than independent living.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

Orchard Park was taken over by a corporate entity. Manager turnover is a joke almost each visit I am hearing about a new manager, instead of putting in a revolving door in for the managers, they will be removing the onsite manager altogether. The residents will be forced to wear life monitors as forced jewelry. Their excuse is always "well we were told by corporate it is not us". The residents are treated more like children than adults. Corporate does not care even with close to 25% of the units empty they take the cookies out of the third floor kitchen and instead of the desert the desert tray desert is just fruit. Each time dad hears about a new decree from corporate he cringes wondering how bad is this dumb idea.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

I wrote a previous review based on information that turned out not to be accurate. I would like to apologize for this and submit a new review. There had been a lot of turnover in managers which led to some confusion about how existing rules were being enforced. There was a specific incident involving one of the older residents and a friend of ours. The incident that prompted that review did not happen as it was originally described to me; so again I apologize. I understand the corporate office has promised no more changes in managers for awhile which would be helpful. My mom is still a resident here and is very satisfied. The exchange travel plan they offer is wonderful!
