Solstice Senior Living at Tacoma is where I'm going. I've already made arrangements. The tour was good. The girl who gave us the tour did a good job. She took us through the whole place, and she explained everything to us. She gave us a tour of about five to six rooms. They have remodeled the whole place. It is where I want to go. It was well done. The staff member, for someone that hasn't been there very long, was really knowledgeable. She was good. The place was beautiful. It has always been a friendly place and they have things to do and places to go. They have everything I need and if something happens, like if I get sick, I don't have to move.

Solstice Senior Living at Tacoma was a huge place, and in order to eat in the dining room, I would have to drive from my apartment to the main building, and it was all uphill and narrow straight ways. The apartment itself was not clean enough to suit me, they didn't have kitchens, they just have a tiny sink with faucet and refrigerator. They didn't have a stove, washer and dryer, and it has only one bathroom. They had all kinds of activities available, but you would have to drive your car to the main building for that. They had a huge dining room, and it was mandatory to dine there. The young lady that took us around was friendly, and she was nice, but the staff we saw when we toured around was not friendly.

Solstice Senior Living at Tacoma was very good. The location was good, the cost was within my mother's budget, and everyone was friendly and really accommodating. The place was a little older but still in good shape.

We looked at Gibson Gardens. Their information said they have on-site caregivers, but they don't. It's just like individual apartments that the seniors are living in, although it's a beautiful place. The apartments are clean, the people are friendly, and the grounds are nicely maintained. They have services, like taking the residents to the grocery store. You have the option to pay extra per month so you can go and eat in their dining room.

The Village's staff was quite pleasant and we had a nice meal. The rooms were really clean. The residents we spoke with were happy being there.
