I like Emerson on Harvest Hill. It's a great place. The food is awesome, and there are a lot of activities available. They have golf on a putting green once a week, a movie night, and beanbag baseball. Everything is great here.
Treemont Senior Living was very large but nice, clean, and attractive. They had a lot of activities and a big library with several computers that the residents could use. There were areas where people could gather and watch TV and socialize and not just stay in their apartments. They had two-bedroom, two-bath apartments. The staff introduced me to a couple of residents and called people by name as we were looking around. They had several different outdoor areas, a smoking area, a putting green, a miniature golf course, goldfish pond, and a patio where you can sit out in the shade. They had several small living room areas and coffee pots going all the time.

Treemont Dallas was big, but I found the room to be rather small, and I was very disappointed in the fact that they don't really have any type of kitchen facilities or kitchen equipment storage. There was no room to store dishes and cooking utensils. They provide the meals for free, but I also wanted something where if I wanted to, I could make my own spaghetti sauce or cook my own meatloaf, and they didn't really have that. They were also a little bit more expensive than I wanted them to be. For a small one-bedroom, that's 500 square feet, there wasn't room for a full-sized sofa without dominating the space. The person during the tour was quite nice and she tried to be as helpful as possible. She was very good at showing me the rooms and answering the questions I had about what happens as I continue to age and become more senile. She gave me a decent level of comfort about that.
