I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father is at Argent Court Bastrop, and he likes it a lot, but they may not be adequate to continue his care if he needs more care than he does now. He loves it, it’s a smaller community, and it’s a great facility. His room is a perfect size for him, and the bathroom is really well done in as far as handicap accessible. The food is amazing, the chefs are very good, they treat the residents well, and really cater to their needs. They have dominoes, various parties, bingo, and days out. He doesn’t participate in many activities with other people, but the options are there. There’s always an activity almost daily, a lot of church services, and singers. The dining area is really nice, and they have small tables.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I was impressed with Argent Court Bastrop. It was lunchtime and I talked with different people in the dining room. I got high reviews from everybody except for the food. My parents are there now. It's very nice, they're very caring, and it's very homey. They don't have a dementia program there. My stepmother is benefiting more than my dad, but they're caring for my dad on top of everything else and making sure that they get their meds, and if they don't go to the dining room to eat, that they get their food in their room. I've seen them clean the room and do the laundry, and I'm very pleased. The food looked good, but some people just don't like it. They cater to people with diabetes and 90% of the desserts are sugar free. The only thing they can't do is they can't force them to do anything. If they don't want a specific item that's on the plate, they have an alternative option. It's an older building, but it's well kept. They have several activities for them. They have puzzles, dominoes, cards, and singing groups. They have something going on quite regularly. The pricing is really high, but overall good considering what they do for the clients. I'm not happy with the price, but I'm happy with everything else.
