Commonwealth Senior Living at Oak Ridge looked like an institution, which kind of turned me off because I'm not that helpless yet. It's nice and clean, they have plenty of staff, and there were plenty of residents sitting around. I'm only 71, but they had people there in their 80s, and they seemed OK. The staff was professional and interested in old folks. It's in a nice neighborhood, and it's off the road a little bit. They have a recreation area. The dining area was nice and looked like a restaurant.
The community was clean and orderly. They were thorough, pleasant, and answered all the questions during the tour. They showed a couple of different rooms, and the people there seemed to like it. I didn't eat there but the dining area was like a restaurant where the residents sit down at the table and get served. There are different small groups doing different things. They had a group playing board games who were all laughing, aother group in the exercise room, and another group doing scrapbooking. You can do what you want there.
