We are moving mom to Windlands East, and I'd say it was the best place for blue-collar workers because of the affordable prices. The staff are very friendly. My mom's apartment is perfect for her. It is a good-sized apartment for one person, but I would not put any more than one in there. The place is very clean, they have current-model appliances, and they make sure everything is up to date in there. It is pretty well kept. I think they have a few selections for each meal. I think that's good, and that is what they need -- a little bit of a choice. They have bingo, arts classes, computer classes, and day trips. They have a computer room, a formal dining room, and private dining rooms.

Windlands East was an old building but very clean and well kept. The staff was very nice. However, it was missing that liveliness that the other facility had. It just seemed a little quieter and a little more subdued. They have a library and an activity room. The dining room is just enormous, and it has huge paned windows so you can see out. It looks like a restaurant; it doesn't look like a dining hall. They have a workout room, and each floor has its own little free-laundry area and trash chute. They have a salon on site where you can go and get your hair done. They have activities. We were very impressed with this community.

It is clean and they seem to be really nice. The dining area is beautiful and it's just a nice place. The staff was very nice and assistive. They invited us for lunch and the food was good.

Windlands East was very nice, but it wasn't in a particularly fantastic part of town. I looked at the apartments and I'd rate them a four. The staff was very pleasant to talk to. It was on a Saturday, and the ones I briefly talked to weren't as gregarious and outgoing as the ones I've met in other facilities. It seemed like I was being bothersome when I was talking to the person from food services. They have a full-time security guard with multiple cameras located all over the building, and they have a parking lot. The manager was very nice and very easy to talk to. It's just very expensive. They wanted $2,500 to move in, which was nonrefundable. It's a pretty facility and it's 11 or 12 stories tall.

I visited Windlands East and saw a one-bedroom that was nice enough. I think there was an activity room with a pool table, and various things which could occupy your time that were quite nice. The staff was the least friendly of the places I looked at. They should keep it a little cleaner, and the staff should have more personality.
