The staff at Brookdale Germantown is really nice and cordial. I can't go in there because they're locked down since last January. When my dad needed supplies, they'd call me, and I'd bring the supplies to the front door. They're being so cautious and just staying in house, taking care of everybody and just keeping everybody safe. The staff members that I met were pleasant and as helpful as they could be. They have activities and three meals a day, and they do all the things to take care of him. However, I got a notice from the mail that they're going to raise the rent. They're trying to ask for more and more they can get, so that's a problem.

We visited Brookdale Germantown. It was a very good tour and my brother was with me. We saw a lot of the residents, but I don't think that's where my mother needs to be right now. She has dementia and it's getting worse, and she would not be able to function in that environment. They were getting ready for a holiday so they were doing a lot of crafts. We saw the dining room and we saw an available room that was empty. The facility was very clean and very nice. The staff looked very efficient. They were having a meeting, and they were assisting the people who were there. They showed me the lady who does their hair and nails and showed us where you could go and have your hair done.

Caring friend

This is a beautiful community. Most of the staff are hard working and pleasant but receive little praise or respect from their administrator. Care givers seem to always be sitting and not doing much at all. Other departments seem to struggle to complete all the work assigned and have horrible time restrictions in the service they are able to provide causing them to be overwhelmed when taking care of our loved one. Work is not distributed fairly. Food in the dining room is horrible and the Director of Dining appears to be non sympathetic to their needs often walking off abruptly leaving the impression she could care less. The Redident Services Director is hard to contact and does not return phone calls. They over charge for poor service. She has no sense of urgency or appears to not really be interested in what is being said and seems to be falling asleep.

Brookdale Germantown is pretty impressive overall. I ate there and the food was really good and the staff was really friendly. The whole place was very clean and well-maintained. It's a little more expensive than some of the others.

I had a wonderful visit at Brookdale and the place was gorgeous. The staff was wonderful, very informative, and very courteous. The have aerobics, painting, drawing, and swimming classes. They have trips and shopping experiences.

Gardens of Germantown is outstanding. Every staff in there is wonderful. Their programs are wonderful. Their attention to the residents and their security are all very topnotch. Each of the apartments is naturally very small, but we like that because it's very functional. My mom doesn't need much space; she needs safety and security. The location is wonderful too. There is little or no reason for my mom to go outside.
