<p>Our newly renovated facility offers 24 staff assistance to meet the specified needs of our residents. </p>

<p>We offer assistance with ADL/IADL care including incontinence care, bathing, medication management, meal preparation, laundry services to suit individual needs. We provide services through outside agencies which include hospice, home care services which offer physical, occupational therapies, skilled and psych nursing as per physician request. Sterling Home has an on-call physician that regularly visits the facility as well as a psychiatrist and podiatry services. </p>

<p>Our department-trained staff is certified in medication administration and management and diabetic care. We offer on-site activities and spiritual services. Sterling Home administration coordinates with outside behavioral health agencies to those residents who qualify. A contracted off-site pharmacy supplies the facility on a six-day-a-week service at no additional cost to our residents. Cable, WiFi and beauty salon amenities are all-inclusive.  </p>

Dietary Department

Residents will enjoy food crafted by professional chefs and expert bakers, from traditional meals to special dinners and events. While we encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room, we understand that there are days when tray service becomes necessary. If they would rather rest at home, their meal will be delivered directly to them.

Environmental Services

Fair Oaks of Pittsburgh offers services in the areas of laundry, housekeeping, security and maintenance.


Laundry service is provided once a week. All laundry is picked up and returned on the same day, with the exception of Oak Hall where laundry service is provided daily.
Apartments are thoroughly cleaned by professional staff once a week, with the exception of Oak Hall which is cleaned daily.
Security services are provided 24 hours a day/7 days a week, including video surveillance and uniformed security guards.
Our maintenance crew is available round the clock. Work orders are typically completed the same day they are received.

Licensed Nurse Service
A licensed nurse is on staff from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday-Friday to offer care for our residents. The nurse is also on call 24 hours a day for emergencies.

Residential Care Aide (RCA) Service
Fair Oaks residents are offered Residential Care Aide (RCA) services in their private one or two-room suites. This allows for greater independence while also providing the care the resident may need for their daily tasks of living. Families will have a greater peace of mind knowing their loved ones are being given the care they need in a private setting.

Each resident will have a Resident Assessment Support Plan (RASP) created by our residential care services staff members in conjunction with the resident and their family members. RCAs provide care for the residents throughout the day, including escort service, assistance with bathing, personal grooming, dressing, and bed making. RCAs also prepare laundry for pickup, empty trash, and provide light housekeeping.

Medication Distribution Service
A trained professional (med-tech) will order, chart, pour, and distribute all medications. The med-tech works directly with the doctor and pharmacists acting on behalf of the resident receiving the service. Fair Oaks of Pittsburgh's preferred provider is Johnsons Pharmaceutical Services.

Rehabilitation Service
Located on the lower level of the living facility, Fair Oaks leases space to Fox Rehab Services to provide on-site rehab for speech, physical, and occupational therapy.

Transportation

To provide our residents with a true independent senior living experience, transportation is provided by Fair Oaks of Pittsburgh through ACCESS, a coordinated, shared-ride paratransit service, for all residents at no additional cost. Pittsburgh, St. Augustine Plaza was the first senior
citizen high-rise sponsored by Christian Housing, Inc.
Sisters Coleman Conroy and Veronica Marie Phillips
envisioned making Christian Housing more than just
apartment complexes. They developed a new model
of independent living for all the residents.It all began at St. Augustine Plaza some 33 years ago. Our current managers have continued the tradition of providing outstanding service for the residents. St. Augustine Plaza is a beautiful seven-story building consisting of 87 one-bedroom apartments with spacious rooms, balconies, wall-to-wall carpeting and individually controlled heating and air conditioning. A large community room and laundry complete the complex. Balconies offer a beautiful view of downtown Pittsburgh, Troy Hill, Polish Hill and Mt. Washington.

St. Augustine takes pride in providing residents with everything they need to meet their physical and spiritual needs. It is close to Bloomfield and Lawrenceville area supermarkets, farmers markets and shopping. West Penn and Shadyside Hospitals are just a short bus trip. Churches of several denominations are right in the neighborhood, along with two senior centers. Bus stops are situated within one block of the building. The Plaza offers a number of social activities for the residents. Birthday parties, card games, picnics, movies and holiday dinners are regular events. Our community room has a large screen television, a library, video games and table games. Several residents take part in regular exercise classes. A service coordinator is available on site to help residents with rent rebates, taxes, as well as legal and health-related assistance. The spirit of maintaining good health and continual health and safety education is an integral part of St. Augustine’s programming. Representatives from local health organizations host informative presentations at the plaza. Many residents help out at the nearby churches, Meals on Wheels, senior centers and local hospitals. St. Augustine Plaza is truly a great place to live independently.
