Description of The Village (St. Barnabas Health System)
The Village is a senior living community in suburban Pittsburgh, nestled in the hills of Allegheny County. It's one of St. Barnabas Health System's four senior communities, with 252 luxury residences in three buildings. The community has one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom floor plans ranging in size up to 1,384 square feet. Features include fireplaces, patio areas and full kitchens.
There's plenty to do at The Village. Residents can swim in the heated pool at the nearby Crystal Conservatories or shop at the indoor mall. The community has a bank, post office, game room and hair salon, among other amenities. Residents don't have to leave the campus to take care of daily errands or enjoy restaurant dining.
The outdoor area at this retirement community has a putting green and bocce court. There's also a gazebo and koi pond for quiet relaxation. The Village also provides spiritual services at the on-site chapel.

St. Barnabas has everything you can think of. There are carriage houses, a three or four-block long 5-story home for senior citizens with a mall underneath it, skilled nursing, doctors, and rehab security. If you lose your money, they just move you over to charity row. I've been here for about over a year and I have a carriage house. We have a bus that takes us to the mall twice a week, and we have doctors right here. People are nice and fantastic. We have a great restaurant and a general store here within blocks from us. We have movie stars and governors come, they have races here, and all the profits go to charity row. The whole compound is immense. There's a swimming pool and we have access to golf courses, and they constantly have entertainment. The staff is excellent. The price is not real high, or real low, so it's right in the middle.
