1. For the benefit of potential FOX HOLLOW RESIDENTIAL CARE (FHRC) residents, an overview by residents who've lived at FHRC in the Independent Living cottages from two to 6 years follows. During this time a major change occurred that we feel is making a positive difference: New on-site operational management, AVALON SENIOR CARE, assumed managerial responsibility for FHRC effective 1 August 2017. 2. Apropos this management change, we note that there were indeed situations that spoke to the need for serious improvement. In the months since AVALON SENIOR CARE has been on-site, we can attest to the beginnings of a distinct functional turn-around, including a crisp approach to management. This included, e.g., highly professional attention to vexing on-going problems that were skillfully and successfully resolved. We were seriously impressed - even astounded! 3. Likewise other administrative improvements have resulted in upgrades to the daily operation of FHRC, plusses by any standard. 4. In a nutshell, a much-needed overhaul has begun, already with excellent results. More to follow with any luck and certainly not for lack of effort. FHRC is re-grouping under its new management. We suggest that friends and families of potential new residents keep the above in mind when seeking care for their friends and families. There is now increasingly much to commend FOX HOLLOW RESIDENTIAL CARE.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

In good conscience, I feel compelled to warn others of this horrible care center. We, who unfortunately housed a loved one at Fox Hollow, now refer to the center as "HEART HOLLOW." Our complaints are too many to list here; much of what happens "behind the scenes" falls far below general industry standards. The center is terribly understaffed, - residents are ignored no matter how often they call for help, or often corralled in areas - & purposefully stranded away from their wheelchairs so they can be more easily monitored by the staff! The center is so cheap, it finds its occupational & recreational activities workers by placing ads for volunteers on Craigslist! Outrageous! Please do look elsewhere for housing for your elderly loved ones; there are wonderful other facilities; this one is simply atrocious!

As we embark on a new era at Fox Hollow, we also recommit to the long-standing tradition of genuine caring, quality service and simple kindness that has been the Fox Hollow trademark for decades. We know that there are many wonderful choices for senior living in the Eugene area. We also know that internet reviews often influence our decisions. Someone once said, “praise and blame are all the same” – Therefore, we simply invite you to find out for yourself whether Fox Hollow is the “right fit” for you or your loved one. I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mother needed more help than could be provided at home.This was the nicest place we could find. I had flew in from out of state and stayed with mom for a week in her cottage. The staff went out of their way to make is all feel welcome. All the staff were eager to learn my mom's tendencies and how much care she needed. The head nurse contacted my mom's doctor to address her pain medication to make Sure she was pain free. I ate meals with my mom for a week there and I was impressed how good the food tasted. They also let us decorate her cottage the way she wanted and that made her feel more like her home. Everybody was so nice and helpful.
