The Avalon was nice inside, and my father liked it. They had shared and private rooms. They basically stay on one floor, which I liked. They don't have to go on the stairs or elevators. They had a dining room, areas for crafts and a living room where they can watch TV. The staff during the tour was very nice. It seemed clean. It's not a new place, but we saw no real visible issues.

I didn't care for the location of The Avalon. It was basically in a small strip mall. I was kind of surprised. There really wasn't a designated area for the people to walk around. They were literally walking in a parking lot. It was small, but everyone seemed to be happy. They have activities. It was a little expensive. The people who work there were very nice and gave us a tour. It just wasn't a place where I would place my mom. It was only two floors, and when you walk in, that's where you check in, and when you look straight ahead there's their dining room, and toward the back is where all the bedrooms are. Upstairs, there are more bedrooms and another dining room. They have a common area with a big TV, a computer, and piano, so this is where they do their singalongs and a couple of activities. They have a beauty parlor and they have a doctor on staff. The rooms seem big for two people. Theresa, the woman who gave us the tour, was very nice and pleasant.
