The studio apartment at Southview Assisted Living & Memory Care had a very big bathroom and the door was wide enough that I was able to roll in and I could the turn the wheelchair around in it. The parking lot was level with the front door so you could wheel yourself out and get in your car. They had chair exercises, fun things, and trips on their bus to go out to lunch. It's a small enough community that you could get yourself around the place easily. They had a great outdoor space where they did barbecues frequently and had live entertainment every week, church services, and cooking lessons. You could only have a microwave in your apartment and no stove. The price was only $3,900 a month for assisted living. The place was clean and new and had all the modern amenities in it. If you need help with bathing and dressing, that's $400 a month, and help with medications was $100. If you want something to eat in the middle of the day, you could come to the dining room where they had a list of food that you could have from 6:00 in the morning to 6:00 at night. The staff was the friendliest, the nicest, and the most helpful. This place was the most accommodating for my wheelchair and had the biggest bathroom, but it didn't have central air in all of their units.

The rooms in Southview were clean but a little dated. They had two activities a day for the residents. The dining area was restaurant-style but they also had a nice snack area. I met some of the staff members who were fine.
