I had a very positive impression of Northpoint Village of Utica. It's very upbeat, and the rooms were very nice and very adequate. There was bingo going on in one room and a bunch of card playing in the other room. The meeting area for the residents was on the second floor. There were people using the library. The food was superb. They had a whole bunch of stuff available for everybody, but there was not a rehab area available for my husband. It was very expensive compared to other locations.

My mother was on the wait list of Northpoint Village of Utica, but she got passed over so it didn't work out. They're fine, it's a nice, and clean community. The lady was really helpful and they tried to accommodate us. They also have activities for the residents to do. The pricing they offered us was reasonable for what she's getting, which is amenities with all the food included, and all the utilities.

Mom will move into Brookdale next week. I like it, it's smaller, and homier. They do have memory care further on down the road. I found the staff caring, they know every single person by name, and they even talked to them. They have housekeeping, laundry, basic cable, and they dispense medication.

My dad is happy in Brookdale Utica. He has a single room with a full bathroom. The staff is very nice, polite, and very good. The place is very nice and clean, but it's on the pricier side.

Brookdale Utica was a very nice community. It was more intimate. It had a good atmosphere, and it was quiet. However, it didn't seem like a very active assisted living. The place was very lovely, beautifully decorated, and nicely organized. The staff was very nice. However, we put money down for a place, but we are not able to move in, so we're involved with a little bit of a money hassle, and we're trying to get all of our money back. That has probably tainted my attitude about them a little bit.
