This place should be closed down by the state dept. of health. My mom\' trash can is often over-flowing w/ used depends. Th food is just plain AWFUL!!! The quality of meat hey serve is the lowest that can be purchased. The evening meal consists mostly of sandwichs & Pre-cooked breaded food. There is little over-site of staff. The corporate offices do not come to the facility. It is all about greed for $$$!

What I like most about Montvale Estates is that it seems like you are not lockdown like the rest of the state is. You don't have to follow the same rules and regulations that the state has, and I like that. I like the fact that if we want to pick Mom up, and those type of things, we can actually have her leave the community and then check her back in. Those types of things following proper COVID protocol, that to me is one of the most important things. It was a clean facility. Her apartment looked recently painted with a new carpet. It's a clean facility and it looks like they will provide everything she needs. I am a little concerned that there's probably not much social interaction going on inside the community right now, but that's just part of COVID. Everybody I have interacted with within the community has been very helpful. They have a library, a little study area, and an area where they play cards.

I toured Montvale Estates, but we only saw one room because of the virus. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They don't have activities right now because of the virus. We did like the idea that he could have his own outside door, and we liked that a lot, because he could go in and out, but it's just not for us.

Montvale Estates was nice and clean. I knew a few people that live in their villa and a couple of them told me how inconvenient the villa would be in the stark winter weather. They had one central dining room and it's up to you to get yourself from your villa to that dining room and you have to travel outside. There are no built-in structures for you to walk through to get to the dining room. The only way I would go to Montvale is to be in the main building in their apartments. The person who accommodated us was very experienced, but their price was too costly. They had all the good activities. I had one meal there and the food was quite good, well prepared and well presented. Everything about the facility was excellent.

The prices in Montvale Estates were a little higher than my mother's current community, and it's a little more independent than what my mother needed. I had relatives who lived there before and the place was fine. They said there are things they can assist my mother with. We just didn't feel that they had enough amenities there. Also, it was farther to the dining room, and it's harder for my mother to walk long distances. The person who gave me the tour was fine as well.
