The Pointe at Ocean Boulevard is a very old community. They were updating and renovating the whole thing. The only drawback I saw was you must go outside under covered walkways to your apartment. The rooms are small, but were shaping up to be very nice. It's a good location and there's easy access. They have plenty of parking and the place was right off the main street on East Ocean Boulevard.
I'm a resident of The Pointe at Ocean Blvd. It's quite homey and very pleasant. The staff is magnificent. The food is good and feels almost like being at home. They have a swimming pool and trips to different restaurants and shopping centers. They have housekeeping who does your laundry weekly, changes your beds weekly, and cleans your apartment weekly. It's all independent. The service staff and the office staff are absolutely wonderful. The people in the dining room are magnificent. There's not too much going on, but we have a new director, so maybe things will pick up.
My aunt lived at The Pointe at Ocean Blvd for ten years. It was good there. However, they got a new cook, and she didn't like the food after that. She suffered a little memory loss and she needed to have additional help, but she could not get any additional help at The Pointe. She had a 1-bedroom apartment and it was fine. They were in the process of remodeling all of the apartments and she was in the older style apartment. She did not move into a new style apartment. They had a music program every Friday afternoon and she would always go to that. They had a church service on Sunday and she always went to that. They would have other events during the week and she would participate in those as well.
