Aspens at Fort Collins offers programming that encourages participation from the whole person, no matter their current stage of dementia: We aim to provide activities based on the individual needs of our residents: recreational group outings, on-sight therapies, and Montessori methods.

We contact families regularly via phone, email or in person.  This usually is done however the residents family chooses.  We believe more communication is always better and are always in regular contact with families.

No direct affiliation, but we are minutes away from Banner Health and Poudre Valley Hospitals.

The staff receives monthly ongoing training as well as drills on Elopement, Safety Issues, Physical Care, Disaster planning with dementia residents, Role Playing for specific situations, Encouraging Nutrition and Hydration, etc.

We are located at the corner of Ziegler Road and Rock Creek Drive, south of the Eye Center.

Residents are served 3 main meals per day.  Resident preferences are honored.  There are also daily snacks or small meals offered throughout the day.  Residents are always served on dishware..  Residents who require assistance with eating will have foods served to accommodate needs such as finger foods, and staff is trained in hand-over-hand feeding.

What techniques does {provider.name} use to support memory care residents during mealtimes?

Staff is determined by number of residents and resident care needs.  There will always be at least 2 awake and alert care staff on the overnight shift and at least 4 care staff during the daytime hours.  Again this is determined by resident care needs as staff is added as care needs are increased.

How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
