I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has been in Brookdale Fort Collins for three weeks now. So far, it's been great. They're very sweet and friendly people. My mom's apartment is nice and clean, and she likes it. Communication has been great. I don't have any complaints at all. I haven't really been able to spend time there because of Covid. My mom really likes the food.

Brookdale Fort Collins was really nice. The residents seemed very comfortable there, out and about, and in and around. Everybody seemed generally happy, and the staff was very helpful. The rooms were nice, and most rooms had a little kitchenette. They had a lot of activity rooms, a sunroom where you can go out and sit without being outside, game rooms, and music room, and it's all open. It's encouraging because it's not closed off, and there were no doors in any of the activity rooms. You can just go in and participate if you want to. The dining room was beautiful. The facility was big and spread out over a bigger area and there were many hallways, and it's too big for my mom because she can't get around that well.

Brookdale Fort Collins was bright and had a lot of activities going on. The staff seemed to be caring and engaged with the residents. There seem to be ample room. One of the things that my wife would be interested in is they had a garden area and work benches set up. People could use small tools to keep themselves busy. They also had group activities and exercises.

I didn't like Collinwood Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was dark and seemed depressing to me. The food smelled good, though, and they had activities like gardening, exercise, typical things people can do. The pricing is fairly typical and not anything out of the ordinary than the other folks charge. It's very comparable to what I saw. The lady who gave me the tour was nice, had lots of information, and knew the answers to the questions I had.

My dad moved into Brookdale Fort Collins, and I think he’s very happy there. The staff is very good, and the food seems to be pretty satisfactory for him. They do some activities and pass the ball quite a bit. They communicate with them well, and do outings in the courtyard once in a while if it’s nice outside. The atmosphere was positive, and they’re keeping everybody active and busy.

Collinwood (Collinwood Assisted Living and Memory Care) was wonderful and very nice. It felt like home. The person who helped me was wonderful, very exceptional, and helpful. They had a library and a lounge where you could watch television.

The patio homes at MacKenzie Place Fort Collins were way overpriced, we're also impressed with what they call The Big House. We liked the people in there and the people running the community. We liked the size of the apartments, and the dining room was killer. It's conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, and our family. They had a full calendar of activities, and we saw people getting on a bus to take the residents fishing, bowling, and so on. Based on our tour of the whole place, their facilities were fine although the pool was a little small. If you need a hairdresser, they had that, plus a small store in the building and a very nice theater. I think it's a good community in a nice neighborhood and the hotel where we're staying is half a block away.

MacKenzie Place was in line with what we are expecting. You do not have to be in assisted living to start living there, and you can move into assisted living, and stay in the same apartment. That was one thing that struck me. You do need to get our meals in the facility, and they offer three meals a day. They have game rooms, they offer tours to get out, and there are things like cards to get you to be socially active with other people.

Brookdale was a good facility, and was very adequate. The staff was very friendly, and very informative. The person who showed me around was very knowledgeable, helpful, gave me everything I needed, and showed me everything I needed to see. The rooms were medium-sized, clean, easily accessible, and well-arranged for a person who needed assistance.

Information About Assisted Living Facilities in Fort Collins

Tucked away in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins is a bastion of recreational activity and cultural opportunities for residents of all ages. It doesn’t hurt that the semi-arid climate and bright sunshine make the chilly winters agreeable.

The U.S. Army established Fort Collins as a military outpost in 1864. After decommissioning in 1867, settlers started arriving to build homes. The city has undergone many population booms and busts over the past 150 years and continues to thrive, being named the best place to live in America by Money magazine in 2006.
