We were greeted very nicely at Walnut Park. The staff was wonderful and very informative. It felt very warm and welcoming. What turned me off was that we're coming in as a couple, and the only room that we looked at was very tiny. It did not have kitchen facilities with it or anything like that, and that was the only one they had that was empty. The people seemed really happy. They were all down in that main hall, and it was very crowded. The staff talked about a lot of activities and things that they do and have. The residents were so nice. I know people that have been there and loved it. The facility seemed very nice, but it didn't seem spacious when you walk in because all of those people were roaming around down the hall.

It was very nice, but it felt more like a nursing home as opposed to assisted living. It did not feel as nice. The rooms were all double with a roommate and no private bathrooms. The staff was friendly.

Dad moved in. The staff is very welcoming, caring, quite attentive to his needs, and willing to adjust things to meet his needs. The physical setting is really nice, and the food is good. He feels very well taken care of there.

We went to Park Visalia Assisted Living, but it was more independent. Since it was so open and big, we did not feel that homey feeling. However, the executive director was very nice. A couple of residents were outside sitting in their wheelchairs and talking. I think the facility is a little outdated.

Everything at Park Visalia Assisted Living looks really nice. Everything has worked out really well. The main reason I picked them for my father was because they let him have his little dog in his apartment. They feed him well, and the food is good. The place is nice, clean, and neat. He was always kind of a loner, so he's lightly getting into the mix of meeting people but he's not really interested in any of the activities yet. There is always something going on there. The dining area looks nice, clean, neat, and well appointed. The staff has been great. He loves the food.
