Welbrook South Bay's rooms were new and clean. It was a pretty new, nice place, and the dining area was nice. The staff seems pretty good and seemed fine. It's on a busy commercial street, with a parking lot on the other side, and a small outdoor area.
Welbrook South Bay was newer, which made it nice. The common space was really nice. The staff seemed friendly and kind. The rooms were a nice size, and there were more options, which I liked. They had a library and an exercise area. The dining area was a good size and nicely decorated.
Welbrook South Bay is a beautiful facility, clean, updated, and everybody seems very happy. My mom tells all her friends how wonderful it is. She has been there for almost a month now. Everybody seems very involved in the activities and they have something going on all the time from morning until bedtime. The dining area is beautiful, with tablecloths on the tables for every meal. They have food choices and she has not complained once about the food. The medical care is absolutely wonderful and the nurses are on top of everything. I have no worries when I'm not there. They report to me when there are complications or problems. I love the place itself, but the day she moved in there was terrible. She was transported from rehab, and I saw her sitting like she was waiting for a bus, with all her belongings and not one person there to help her. I was under the impression that she would've been greeted and welcomed. She was sitting in a chair that was directly across from the director's office, but the director never came out or introduced herself, and never said a word to any of us. My mother was very weak and wasn't offered a wheelchair. They need to work on the admissions, but I love them. She is well taken care of and so is her room. She is clean, dressed, fed, and comfortable.
Welbrook South Bay was a brand new and very nice building. The staff I dealt with was very professional, and I like them. Everything was very new and nice.
My mom is at Welbrook. The facility is beautiful. What impressed me about this place was how incredibly clean it is and how caring the people are. It really impacted me. They have is called Generations for people with dementia, of which there are maybe 20 patients there. They are just so loving, caring, and patient with every single one of them, including my mom who's having a tough time right now. I was very surprised and happy to find that the price was something we could afford to help my mom. It's a really good place to take care of her. The rooms are really nice. They usually give them every day a choice of two things to eat in the dining room. They had three meals and a lot of activities for them. They had their own theater, so you can watch a movie and a game room. They also have a lot of activities for the people in the dementia group every day. They have an app where we keep in touch all the time to know what's going on, like if she's participating in an activity, I usually get a text. I am able to go on the app at all times or on the internet to look see the daily schedule, so I am always aware of what's going on which is really nice. The place is peaceful and hands-on with a good ratio of patients to caregivers. It's a homey, quaint, and family-oriented environment. It wasn't congested or busy. It has a very relaxing environment.
I had an appointment at Wellbrook and got there on time but probably waited 45 minutes while they talked to another visitor or family, which I thought was not very well planned if we had an appointment. Then, the woman I had made the appointment with was not available. It wasn’t the person I was scheduled to see who does the regular tour; instead, it was an assistant who showed me the facility. It was clean and new but very much a senior home with a convalescent feel to it, meaning senior living where the seniors are treated like they’re old. This place was definitely institutional. The rooms were nice but almost sterile. We talked about organized activities like bingo and things like that, which wouldn’t appeal to my mother. The grounds and facility were very nice and very well kept. The location for me was not convenient. I didn’t meet many of their staff, just the assistant who gave me the tour, who was very pleasant, but English was not her first language. If they can promote a more congenial atmosphere, I would recommend it to someone with health issues who would need more care.
