A resort-style retirement in the heart of Rancho Cordova, California, is found at Summerset Senior Living (formerly Northstar Rancho Cordova). Our retirement community delivers the first-class services which seniors need to realize the retirement they have always imagined. Designed with a small village theme, Summerset Assisted Living opened in September 2014. With two outdoor courtyards and plenty of outdoor seating, residents have plenty of opportunity to relax in the sunshine.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My father has been in Summerset Assisted Living of Rancho Cordova for a month and a half now. It has modern decor, it's well laid out, and it has all the modern amenities that you need in a facility like wide doors for the bathroom, the apartments, and the studios. They have patios, open floor plans, wide bathrooms, they can have a wheelchair to move around in, pull cords in the bathrooms, and all the residents get an emergency cord necklace. I like the layout and ambience. The food is great and he likes it. They have family lunches, family dinners, games, and raffles. However, we're having issues with the regular changing of his Depends. We found a new blanket in his room that we brought out to the front staff and they still put it back in his room -- there's definitely been some miscommunication. They also could be a little bit more creative with their activities. The cook, the people that assist Dad in the restaurant and the front staff would be a 4, but the care providers, making their beds, assisting him with dressing and bathing, and giving information to the family about their healthcare would be a 3. We had to come in frequently and remind them he needs more frequent changes. However, there are some staff members that are helpful.
