Pasadena Highlands was a very nice place. If my mother were younger and in better health, it would be a perfectly fine place for her. They have a lot of good activities. Their facilities are really nice, but it's too big for her. It would be better for a person in better health with a little more mobility. It's a high rise, and it would be difficult because she is 96. I just felt like that was not feasible as far as she was concerned. Otherwise, it would be perfectly good. The rooms were nice-sized and ranged from a studio to a 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom. They were nice. They had everything you could possibly imagine. Even though it was big, it had a very nice outdoor green area, a little bit like a park. It gives you a nicer feeling so you don't feel so institutionalized.
Its like living in a high-end condo -with all the benefits but no work. There are many choices for care levels which is helpful if situations change. Good size apartments. Lots of activities. They make an effort to always be improving the environment, amenities and services. Marketing staff changes but caregivers are loyal.
