Description of Solstice Senior Living at Apple Valley
At nearly 3,000 feet in elevation, we enjoy cooler summer temperatures and more annual precipitation than you’d expect in a typical desert town, but you can still admire the stark, sometimes otherworldly beauty that makes the desert landscape so memorable. Residents love the enchanting peace of our grounds while appreciating the convenience of our nearby community. If you're in the mood to explore, you'll want to visit Lake Arrowhead, the Desert Playhouse, Highland Casino and the birthplace of Roy Rogers. We're more than a community at Rock Spring, we're a family and we look forward to meeting you.
Rock Spring is proud to be a Holiday Retirement community. Since 1971, Holiday Retirement has been creating superb residential communities where seniors feel a sense of home and belonging. This is what we like to call “The Holiday Touch.”
Featured Amenities
Residents of Rock Spring live in a variety of apartments and cottages under flexible lease terms. Our TV and media room, billiards lounge and game areas are spacious, full of light and comfort. Our community calendar is full of activities and events every day of the week.
Chef-prepared meals are served by friendly wait staff in our restaurant-style dining room. Menus are planned with our residents' dietary needs in mind. A private dining room is also available to our residents for special celebrations.
Available Services
Our live-in managers are available to attend to residents 24 hours a day. Weekly housekeeping and linen service is available. Resident laundry facilities, shuttle service to medical appointments and errands, and utilities such cable television, heat and air conditioning are included in the monthly rent.
We understand that each individual is unique and that needs may change over time. Holiday does not provide any health care services. However, residents are welcome to receive services from any outside home health care provider of their choice to help them continue enjoying life at our community.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mother is here. They play bingo, pinochle, Canasta, and golf, and there's a beautiful library. You sit down to be served every meal. I don't have any complaints. The staff is fine and attentive most of the time. They no longer have a manager on-site 24/7. All of the residents have an emergency medical alarm button that they hang around their neck for an emergency.

I visited this facility
The staff was very nice. It wasn't quite as luxurious as other facilities, but there were a lot of activities. They have a bus that takes you to doctors' appointments and things like that. The rooms were a little smaller and not quite as nice, but they were nice. The meals were 9:00 breakfast, 12:00 lunch; I don't know what time dinner was. They had several hundred people in there. I've never seen so many walkers lined up on four walls in my whole life. There didn't seem to be as much flexibility as far as what you're doing at a certain time and meals. We got there at lunchtime, so we got to see the food, and it did not look quite as appetizing. They didn't have a salad bar and you really didn't have much choice.
