My first impression of Brookdale Anaheim was nice because the entrance was nice; however, after that, I didn't like it. I don't like to be in there. The person who helped me did a very good job, but the dining area was just an empty kitchen. There were residents in their homes, and there were some people watching TV. The room was big, and it was very good. I saw a paper saying they have activities, but I didn't see anybody doing anything.
Brookdale Anaheim is a very fine community. It was really nice inside and clean. The medical assistance was well taken care of. It was one of the best places I've seen. When I was greeted by the person in charge, he introduced me to some of the staff members and explained to me what their duties were. He also told me that they'd be willing to help me if we decided to get my buddy in there. It was a good encounter.
Brookdale Anaheim was very big and well kept. The staff was nice and pretty good. The rooms were quite big, nice, and seemed very clean. They seemed like they had a good mix of activities.
Brookdale Anaheim's staff is really good. We had a hard time getting my husband calmed down, but now he's doing really well there. They are wonderful and they have a lot of patience with him. There were a couple of problems, but everything is working a lot better now. He's in a room with a very pleasant roommate and they get along good. I'm very happy and satisfied. The place is very nice. Linda, the activities director in memory care, is an angel. Yesterday was our 47th wedding anniversary, and normally our son takes us out to dinner, but that wasn't possible this year, so he brought food to the facility and they set up a nice table for the three of us, with a bouquet of flowers, tablecloths, and cloth napkins. It just looked so elegant. They bent over backward for us.
Brookdale was a decent facility, and the representative who showed us around was excellent. She gave me a lot of information and was forthcoming about prices. I liked the apartment on the ground floor, which had a patio. We have a little dog, which is acceptable there. There were people sitting in the hallway in wheelchairs and mumbling; my husband would have objected to that, and I also didn't like that. The senior greeter was a neat guy. The restaurant or dining area was very nice and well appointed. However, it was not the place for us.
My mother moved in to Brookdale Anaheim on May 31st. It's very friendly, open, and very homey, but very hotel like. There are lobbies and places to sit or watch TV. Their dining area is very hotel like, very comfortable, nice, and clean. They've got all the amenities like most places. Your rent includes utilities, laundry, housekeeping, and activities. They have a very nice center courtyard. They also have 24/7 caregivers. The staff is very helpful and gives a lot of extra information regarding the type of healthcare they provide.
Brookdale Anaheim was very nice. It was too far from my home, but it was a nice facility. They weren't updated. The people that work there were very nice and friendly.
I didn’t like Brookdale Anaheim. I felt like I was in one of those nursing homes, and I didn’t like the apartments at all. The staff was very nice. The apartments were very small and clean but not spacious, and there wasn't a kitchen in them at all. They advertise that there is a kitchenette, but there isn't a kitchenette.
