I went to The Atrium at Serenity Pointe. They were very good, they were knowledgeable, and they had two people, actually, who walked us around. It was beautiful outside, they had a lot of walking places, it's on the lake, and it was very nice outside there. They had places to walk, benches to sit on, and a beautiful waterfall inside, which was nice. The problem is, it's very dark in there; they don't have a lot of windows, so it's really dark. It needed a lot of updating, and that was one thing they were not willing to do. I asked them about painting the kitchen cabinets, and they said they wouldn't do that. The dining room was really nice. You picked what you want off a menu. It wasn't really big, but I guess it was sufficient for them, and it was lighter in there. They had windows and stuff. It felt pretty homey there, and the people felt pretty happy there.

I'm here now in Country Club Village Retirement Community. I like everything about it. I like the convenience and I like knowing that I have help if I need it. I also like the food. They have chair exercises everyday. The staff members are all very nice. They go out of their way to help you. I think they do good with what they do. The place is very clean, they take care the cleaning for you, and they're just pretty neat. They have a real nice dining room. I also think the price is reasonable enough.

I didn't care for Crown Trace Villa too much. It was kind of dingy. The staff who toured us was new and didn't know all the answers; she kept saying she has to check on it. The dining area looked very nice and clean. They had a library and a sitting room where you could talk to people.

What I liked about Country Club Village was it gave you an opportunity to move into a bungalow rather than just a room with a cooking area and bathroom. It gives you more than just a hotel-type of accommodation. The staff who toured us was very nice, accommodating, and answered my questions really well. The food was extremely well-prepared and there were good choices.

My mother-in-law stayed at The Atrium at Serenity Pointe for respite care for a month. It was excellent. The food was excellent too. My mother-in-law's room was beautiful. They even furnished it for her. The activities were excellent too. They had Bingo, outings, and shopping. They had a boat ride on the lake, and during nice weather the residents can go fishing.

The Atrium at Serenity Pointe was a wonderful community, and it's a place I want to be. The assisted living and memory care units were beautiful, and the food was very good. Everybody we met was super nice to us, and the staff has been great. They called and offered to help us in any way they can. There are lots of activities in the assisted living section, but not as much in the memory care; although they do take the seniors out every once in a while. Everyone we talked to in the assisted living portion were really happy. The only thing was that it was kind of dark. They need more windows and light, so that was kind of depressing.

West Shores was very nice and pleasant. The rooms were adequate. There were plenty of residents. The staff was exceptionally nice. The facilities were very nice. I saw a game room, a community room, and a reading room. I saw people playing with this electronic thing and some people playing cards. I didn't eat there, but the menu sounded fantastic.

I'm living at The Atrium at Serenity Pointe, and we're very pleased with it. My room is the largest room in the complex and very comfortable. The staff is very good, very easy to work with, and don't give us any trouble nor argue with us about anything. If we ask them to do something, they do it. They have a library, swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, and a billiard table. The food's been good, and we had crab cakes today for lunch. If I were going to recommend a place for someone to stay, this is where I'd recommend them to come.
