The only downside with Atria Chandler Villas is they don't have helpers. If I go there I would need assisted care, but I'd have to hire outside help. Otherwise, I was very impressed and the price range is reasonable. They have villas, which are nice. They organize outings to restaurants and various functions, have performances, and have a pretty well-rounded activity program which I would utilize. They also said if I move in there in the summer they will give me the base rate possible, and I won't have to pay so much because the utilities are included. That's a plus.
Atria Chandler Villas was excellent. The person who gave me the tour was friendly, very open, and answered all the questions that we had. I was very impressed that she knew the names of the residents. She was amazing. Everybody was out of their rooms, engaged, and talking to each other. It was by far my favorite community that we went to. They gave us a banana chocolate bread loaf that was very good.
Atria Chandler Villas really was not what I was looking for. I wasn't impressed with the facility. There were lot of steps and catwalks from building to building. It would not be suitable for my parents. The person that assisted me was lovely, helpful, and couldn't be nicer. The dining area looked fine and it was serviced by servers. There were individual tables when I was there, but it was not a meal period. The menus were posted and the food looked very good. It's just very old and needs to be updated. It used to be a resort hotel. In my opinion, it does not lend itself to the seniors negotiating their way around there.
My mom chose Atria Chandler Villas based on how friendly everybody is -- not only the people working there, but also the people living there. They have a wide range of activities. Everything from daily exercises, card games to weekly outings. There is a wide array of things to do there. She gets three meals a day. They have someone available to drive the residents to doctor's appointments, but we do not utilize that service. They have housekeeping and laundry. They have a hairdresser on the site. Depending on what you want to pay for, for this whole payment, they will do her medications for her and things like that. The staff is fantastic. We were there on the mother's day brunch, and the food is fabulous. The facility is very old. So, the units themselves, they keep them in good shape. However, it is 30 years old, and it is showing wear and tear.
We visited Atria Chandler Villas. We liked the friendliness of the staff and the residents. A lot of people were out doing stuff when I toured the place and that was nice. The community was very clean, very nice, and very peaceful. My dad moved in there for about a month. The food and the dining area were very nice and had very good service. The people who worked in the dining room knew everybody and what they liked. The food was very good. The rooms were very nice. They had plenty of activities, like games, movies, church service on Sundays, and outings. They did stuff almost every day; their activity calendar was full.
I think Atria is a wonderful retirement community. I love how it is designed to look like a resort. I have personally ate their many occasions and love the food and the variety of options they have. I have personally met the main cook and love his style of cooking. The staff is always really friendly, although they are hard to get in touch with. Overall Atria is a great community.
