Gordon Oaks Convalescent Center was dreary. It's probably my least favorite. The rooms were OK, but smaller. There seemed to be an awful lot of people there. It reminded me of a storage center for old people. There didn't seem to be a lot of caring going on. There didn't seem to be a lot of staff either. We've placed my mother at Somerby of Mobile and we're very satisfied with it. The memory care is absolutely fabulous. She loves where she's at, and she has commented that she feels really safe. The nurses there have been fabulous to her and everybody who works there is wonderful. The units are smaller, but they have go...Read more Somerby of Mobile reviews
I would not recommend Somerby of Mobile, they're very aggressive in their marketing, but you have to be pretty independent, which is more than what my mother is, for that facility. I really loved University Oaks. I really liked the staff and they seemed really kind. They were willing to work with me. The rooms are nice-sized, perfect, and you won't be cramped. Some of the rooms have a balcony. I liked that they have a hair salon right there, a big community room, and an exercise room.Read more University Oaks reviews

It just wasn't fit for us because we're very active. They had some college football party the night before I was there. It wa...Read more University Oaks reviews

She had like a studio apartment, it's all open but she had a small kitchenette and you can put a microwave in it, and it comes with a small refri...Read more University Oaks reviews
