Our food is mostly cooked from scratch.  Lunch and dinner is started with a salad bar.  Since most of our food is made from scratch we can cater to any diet, including if someone is diabetic.  

What makes the chef or dining program at {provider.name} exceptional? What kind of menu can assisted living residents expect?

The average age is 82 years old, with a mixture of male and female.  Our residents are extremely active so they still enjoy getting out for lunches, exercise, bingo, bible study and social hour on the patio. 

Describe the overall population of assisted living residents at {provider.name}. What is their average age? What are their favorite things to do?

We have up to 5 different contacts for each resident.  We can inform them of happenings in the community, their health or special events that are being held in the community.

How does {provider.name} keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?

All residents will have a pendent that they are required to wear in the community.  Also, all bathrooms have walk in showers along with safety bars throughout the bathroom.  River View Lodge is a secured community so the public have to be let it, they just cannot walk through the doors.

What safety features or security measures does {provider.name} offer to assisted living residents?

Currently our resident to caregiver ratio is 11:1 during the day and evening and 16:1 for the overnight hours.  This is exceptional for independent living.

What is the care staff-to-resident ratio at {provider.name} during daytime and nighttime hours?

Residents here at River View Lodge are very independent, so they sign in and out as they go.  We do not provide the level of care for a wanderer so during the assessment we would recommend another community for them.

What safety features or security measures does {provider.name} provide to protect residents who wander?

We have an on call nurse 24/7.  We also have a SNF on the property and they have nurses on site if we need.

Does {provider.name} work with an agency or registry to provide nursing and medical assistance as needed?

Grocery store, Walgreens, coffee shop, river beach, Green Circle Trail,  Schools and tracks.

What places are near {provider.name} or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?

We have on going training on fall prevention,  health and wellness, elder abuse, emergency situations, process and procedures.

What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?

Sorry River Lodge does not accept cats or dogs, however if family wants to bring them in for a visit, that is fine.

If {provider.name} accepts dogs or cats, what indoor/outdoor areas can they enjoy?

We have a fitness group, group exercise, rosary, church services, and bike rides.  We also have full service kitchens so our residents are able to cook or bake when they would like.

What programs or activities does {provider.name} offer to enrich residents' well-being?

Here at River View Lodge we have our own van that seats 9 residents and we are on the public bus line.
