Our beautiful retirement community is located in the Shenandoah Valley, and offers breathtaking views of the famous Blue Ridge Mountains. I am/was a resident of this facility
I have many friends here and I love that. I love the staff. I also like going to events with my friends, especially games and ice cream. I'm very happy here, and Elm Park has done a good job keeping us safe from this Covid. The staff is very nice. The only thing I'm not happy with is the food, and a lot of us don't like that. They're very good to us, bringing in food to the apartment and that. But the food is not what it should be and after all, this building, all these women have cooked all their lives. And then we get this kinda food from the kitchen, which is to me institutional food. And it's repeat all the time. They don't change it. My apartment is fine and I love it, and with the wonderful view of the mountain. They're being very careful. We're playing games, but we only have so many, and we wear our mask. I have a balcony and I'm up on the 4th floor. They do have pets. This is supposed to be independent living, but there are people in here that should not be here. I'm very happy here, but there's one thing that many of us want. At 7:30 at night the door is locked. There's nobody here to look after anybody, but we have the GreatCall we're supposed to use. And I think it would be nice to have somebody here 24 hours. I'm fine, but there are some people that do need assistance. I'm very happy except for the food. And I have many friends here. I've been here 8 years.

The staff is phenomenal, very pleasant and helpful. They call all residents by their name which I think is amazing. The facility is always clean, and my husband and I are very happy here. It's just a great place to live and we're very happy here.

I visited this facility
We only got to visit Elm Park Estates, and we were both impressed. What we were looking for is 2-bedroom, 2-baths, something I could walk into, no steps, we liked it, the price was good, but it was a little above us. The person who assisted us was great, the room was good enough, and it was very nice for us. The dining area looked great.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
We're very pleased with Elm Park Estates. We like the way it looked. It's well organized and clean, and the people are very friendly and attentive. The residents seemed very happy and interested in new people coming in. They have areas where they can sit and read or just talk with people inside and outside. My friend could take his dog there. They were very reasonable compared to the others we looked at. The dining area is very nice, good sized for the facility, the lighting was fine, and very comfortable.

I visited this facility
Elm Park Estates was very clean, very nice, and spacious. The people were extremely good, thoughtful, and the food was good. I liked everything about it. It's like living in an apartment. They bring in somebody to wash your sheets, your blankets, and your towels. You do your other cleaning yourself, but they cook three meals for you, and the food i excellent. The staff is very good, very thoughtful, very kind, and they'll help you with anything you want.

My mom seems to be happy in Elm Park Estates. We had a very good experience, and she's enjoying the activities. Her apartment is nice, clean, and comfortable. We ate there a couple of times, and the food is excellent. They have a good chef. The staff has been very helpful.

My father moved into Elm Park Estates. The rooms and the facilities are nice. The food is fair, that's his chief complaint. The pricing is great, cheaper than the other senior places in town, so it's more affordable for him. They have a ton of activities, and put a lot of effort into it to have good activities. They have not been able to honor their agreement on cleaning his room and changing his bed. I think they have some staffing issues, and that's problematic. But they put your carpet in, paint it and made the room really nice for him to move into which is great. They even offer to change the shower structure and offered to put in a walk-in shower for him. They have a washer and dryer on every floor to them, you just can't use it Mondays to Fridays which is the downside. They have a nice outside patio, a nice place outside to sit and rock in the chairs. My dad has a patio, most of the rooms have outside the apartment which is great. Overall, it's a nice community, but my dad's only complaint is the food. The staff is very nice and very helpful. He goes out to eat a lot and he buys food at the grocery store because he doesn't want to eat the food. If they would just fix the food, I think that would be great.
