I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents are at The Fairmont. My stepmother especially likes the look of a hotel. The room they got was nice and spacious with a nice outdoor area. It was important to my dad to have an outdoor area. Management seems to be right on top of things. My stepmother is into crafting, and there's a bible study for my dad. They have a van that can take them places eventually when COVID is over. They both like the food. We will eventually need to have more than just independent living, but for independent living I think it's great. The staff has been great.

The Fairmont is clean. My mother-in-law loves all the activities. They have good food. We can go eat with her for $5, which is very reasonable. They always have a nice Mother's Day and Father's Day dinner and the other holidays, too. They have a pool, a library that has a pool table in it, bingo, and arts and crafts.

I visited this facility

I visited the Fairmont, the people were wonderful, and the apartments were a little bigger. The food smelled wonderful, the cleanliness was good. The staff was really nice.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

I had my loved one at Lake Manassas and everyday I was beyond impressed by the how caring the staff was. Management and nursing are attentive and respectful. Their dietition is a 4 year trained chef and I was able to enjoy meals with my mother as she was rehabbing. I have never seen such a beautiful and well managed facility. If you have the chance to visit I highly recommend seeing it with your own eyes.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My husband was in Brookdale Lake Ridge, and the only thing I was impressed with was the nursing staff. I got the smallest room, which was all chopped up. I hated that room and had to bring my own furniture, towels, and bedding. I didn't like the cleaning staff and I was always looking to get somebody to do the laundry. They had an access door to go out into the beautiful courtyard, but you'd need a nurse to let you out and in. There were times that my husband and I, and even my daughter, were locked out.

I visited this facility

We chose Brookdale Lake Ridge because it is was in our budget. The place seems to be very nice and very clean. The staff members are very nice. The dining is fine. The rooms are OK. A lot of them are shared rooms.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law was at Arbor Terrace Sudley Manor. We loved it. She was in the assisted living Bridge program, which was excellent. It's for people who are between assisted living and memory care, and it wasn't a fit for us, but the people who run it were great. The atmosphere was always friendly and warm. It's a very caring and nurturing environment. I would recommend that hands down to anybody looking for assisted living especially with somebody who has mild dementia. I did not have one bad experience there, and communication was great. I really loved it there.

Potomac Place was horrible and they've gotten worse. They did not have an activities director, but their CNAs tried to provide the residents with activities. The rooms were nice, though. They didn't want the staff to get close to the residents, that's why they rotated the staff all the time. It was a 150-bed residency, but they didn't have a balanced staff at night. If your relative needs care at night, you have to hire somebody to stay with them. When you go there for a family visit, they serve great food, but when you get to eat with your family member, you will see that the food is very bad.
