When you enter the foyer it is clean and the furniture is arranged nicely. There are a handful of floorplans to choose from. The rooms are spacious and suitable for any senior. The staff is kind and seems friendly. Although, I didn't witness a lot of interaction between the staff and residents. The couple of seniors I saw seem content and were very independent. The meals are healthy and prepared according to the residents custom diet plan. Activities within the facility correlate with holidays and milestones. Overall, Brookdale Irving is striving to give their residents care that will promote and maintain their independence.

Recent change of ownership. When you walk in you will notice a warm, friendly environment, and will find they have licensed 24 hour care, assistance with medication, and nutritious meals. They offer tiered levels of service to ensure you are only paying for the services that your loved one needs. They offer quite a few activities for the residents and transportation. I believe the change in ownership will improve quality of care. It is a solid 4 star for the area.

This community is now Brookdale but previously Emeritus. This building is clean but can benefit from a few updates. The food is average the residents had concerns with taste and accommodations. The staff seem to provide support in the dinning room. The care team have a few delays with providing care on time due to limited staffing. The activities need more varation and the residents need more encouragement in regards to participation. The staff appear to have a good relationship with the the residents but the staff can benefit from better customer service skills.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

This place only caters to certain people. My great-grandmother was placed here because she was 90 years old,so we decided after a year to let her dog go see her. This place is suppose to be pet friendly right? This old lady who was at the door yelled at me and my daughter for taking a filthy mutt into her living area, when she has a dog in her lap,she then proceeds to yell at the front desk lady to either ban us and the dog or to ban my great grandmother who only saw the dog for a minute before the front desk lady push us out, saying comeback some other time without the dog. This place only cared for certain people, which is outrageous for what we are paying!

I Am A Current/Past Resident

Had my relative at this facility for a year in independant living. In that time there was 3 Directors, flys in halls and dining area, and issues with homeless folks in the halls. The food is poor not for anyone looking for healthy options. The facility is 30 years old only has one eleavator which has brokendown more than once. Poor security - No cameras to monitor hall,no scurity policies and procedures for staff, locks are not changed when people move. No tracking of issues reported. My relative had $2000.00 dollors worth of properity stolen from the apt by someone with key access. Recurring theft categories among residents include, art, jewlery, clothes, small funiture, antiques, nick nacks, adult diapers, medications especially pain meds and antibiotics. Repairs are not made quickly. My relative was propmised that the locks would be changed after the first theft and this never happened. The only positive is the activities which is adequte. We moved, and do not recommend this facility. Poorly managed, they do not care about the people there only the money, no integrity with documenting and handeling issues.

Very friendly and professional staff. The facility appears to be very well kept and clean. The staff seemed to be buzzing about looking in and taking care of the residents. I was only able to talk to one resident who was extremely satisfied with their living experience.
