My dad is a current resident at Cowhorn Creek Estates. From the input of my dad, he likes the staff there, and he's made friends. I think he's happy with the facility and the layout of his room. The only big negative I heard is about the food, and I heard from the other residents as well that it used to be good, but it started going downhill when the virus started. The place seems satisfactory. It's up to date and modern looking. The care that he's been receiving is also satisfactory. They can improve on the food because that's a big complaint; I've heard it from multiple residents. That's something they should do -- a survey among the residents. They have a salon, an exercise room, a game room, and a library area. They also have a community TV. My dad has made friends with some of the staff, although there are one or two who kind of rubbed him the wrong way.

Brookdale Texarkana was quaint, cozy, and very small. The sales manager gave me some information on financial assistance for my parents. I was very well accommodated. It was clean, and the residents walking around seemed very happy and content. It felt very homey.

Cowhorn Creek Estates was nice. They showed me the recreational areas and apartment options. It was kind of dated, but clean. My tour guide was very attentive and answered all my questions. The dining area was large and well lit, but a little bit crowded.
