The tower was built in 1975, and there are 212 apartments in the tower spread over 11 stories, each with one bedroom and one bathroom. The facility is subsidized by the Housing and Urban Development Division, and the rent includes a utility allowance.
The facility has numerous amenities, such as laundry service, air conditioning, a refrigerator in the kitchen and elevator service for easy access to each floor. The HUD scheme means that residents typically pay flat rent or a percentage of their income as rent. All Chippington Towers I apartments are cable ready, and small pets are welcome.
