I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was a patient at Elmwood for almost 4 months. In that time I can’t say enough great things about her care. The staff at S1 were amazing. Keith, Elisa,Kaitlyn, Mike, just to name a few. Her therapists, nurses, aides, activities staff and even her housekeeping staff were always so kind and caring for her. She enjoyed her meals and snacks. I am so thankful that my mom had the amazing care that she did while she was there.

Not enough skilled staff to left a person off wheel chair from bed to dress and bathroom. Calls to Administrator are never return phone box is always full. We had to hire someone to help for $300 a day plus $7,000 a month

Jaleesa, the unit manager in one west is incredible! My mom has been a resident there for two years and has spent the whole pandemic in the One West Wing. Jaleesa has gone above and beyond her duties by ensuring my mother’s needs were met even if it meant staying late. Jaleesa has been communicating with me at least three times a week, she listens intently to concerns, in addition to following up on questions. It has been a sad year being unable to visit and hold my mom, but Jaleesa has given me peace of mind and comfort with her kindness and support towards my mom and me. She has touched my life with her genuine kindness, and she was able to calm my worrying during some of the most uncertain times I’ve ever seen in my life. She truly has found her calling, and the residents and their families are lucky to have her....

My parents are considering going to The Fountains at Cedar Parke. It is a very nice place. The rooms are very clean and kept up well. Everyone seems to have a smile on their face behind their masks. The person who helped us was fantastic. She was very accommodating. She really wants us to move there, but she understands that we need to find out more before we can say yes. There are not as many activities right now because of the pandemic, but they showed us pictures of the past activities that they have done, and events that they have hosted. They still do things for the people inside like crafts, but not activities like going out and traveling.

I am a current client of this provider

We've been using Sunlight Care. You can receive aide service and that's basically what we had to begin with. My mother has an open wound on her foot. This aide comes in every day to change the bandage on her foot and to look at her med chart to make sure she has taken all her meds in the morning. She comes every two weeks, so I get a bill each time she does that. They're very accommodating as our needs change. They're able to change for what we need. She has visited every morning for just five to ten minutes, and then once every two weeks for twenty minutes. She goes over the pills, makes sure everything's all right, and finds out what I need to buy for bandages. Showering is a 25-minute visit. She has a weekend aide and a weekly aide. The pricing is very reasonable.

Yardley Commons is a very nice community. The staff is fine. My father-in-law has a studio apartment, but they have a variety of room options; it depends on what you can afford. They have game nights and shuffleboard. They prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and all the meals are included in the rent. Housekeeping comes in once a week to do vacuuming and cleaning. They have a cafeteria and a library.

I visited this facility

Brookdale Echelon Lake was rather dreary and I thought it wasn't very welcoming in terms of the atmosphere. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, she did say that a renovation was coming, which I appreciated. But we had to make a decision on the place right away. From the outside it looked very nice, it had a very nice environment with a lake in the back. But inside, it looked old and needed some updating and remodeling.

Care Cost Comparison

Senior care prices are based on a number of factors, but the type of care required is typically the main factor affecting cost. At $10,646 per month, nursing home care is nearly $4,000 higher than assisted living and almost $5,000 higher than homemaker services. While home care is priced considerably lower than assisted living, it’s important for seniors considering this option to budget for rent or mortgage payments and day-to-day living expenses normally covered by the room-and-board portion of residential care rates.

To qualify for the CHSP program, applicants must be elderly or disabled and require assistance with activities of daily living. Services provided by this program are subsidized, and seniors are required to pay a portion of the cost based on their income.

To learn more or to apply for the CHSP program, Camden County seniors can contact the New Jersey Department of Aging Services at (856) 858-3220.

LIFE at Lourdes is the Camden County PACE program. It’s open to seniors aged 55 and older who require a nursing level of care but can reside safely outside of a nursing facility. There are no financial restrictions, and seniors who qualify for Medicaid receive services at no cost.

To apply, seniors or a loved one can contact LIFE at Lourdes at (856) 675-3675.
