The community consists of 91 independent living units, 44 assisted living units and 18 memory care units with full community services and amenities. All buildings will be fully self-sustaining but enjoy some combined amenities to enhance the services and amenities to all. The 91 independent living units will be comprised of (15) studio apartments, (43) one-bedroom units, and (33) two-bedroom units.
The independent units are housed in a three story lodge-style building consisting of community common areas, offices, commercial kitchen, beauty shop, and exercise and social rooms. All units will have fully equipped kitchens and include washer and dryer units. The 44 assisted living units will offer private apartments for seniors requiring hands on personal care services. It will consist of (24) studio units and (16) one-bedroom units. There will be (4) double occupancy rooms. The 18 memory care units designed for the safety and comfort of cognitively impaired residents will include walk-in showers, height-appropriate fixtures such as toilets and sinks, and locking cabinets to protect residents from harm.
The common areas will feature an open design including dining and living rooms. Life stations designed to engage through triggering memories of tasks ingrained throughout their life will also be included such as nursery care and nurturing, wardrobe to promote grooming habits and work station for a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Nurse stations will provide a hub for care partners and nurses to conduct care updates and paperwork. The memory care portion will provide complete licensed care for Alzheimer and dementia residents including all meals, life safety equipment / notifications, nursing assistance and medication administration. The Terrace is located near the heart of the Columbia, MO community. Columbia is a bustling town and a great place to retire with an abundance of nature areas, walking/biking trails, shopping options, golf courses and exciting activities at the University of Missouri.  The city itself has many festivals such as the Art in the Park, Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival, Show-Me State Games, Heritage Festival and Craft Show, True/False Film Festival  and many others. 
Columbia is located in mid-Missouri and lends itself to convenient travels to other cities and towns.  There is lots to be seen and enjoyed not far from the Terrace.

If you don't want to deal with driving, the Terrace offers regularly scheduled transportation services.  During weekdays our driver and shuttle will transport you to banks, grocery stores, the Columbia Mall, Walmart, medical appointments, and Sunday mornings take you to church services.

There are many large areas in our community that residents enjoy. We have two large  living areas. In one,  you can visit around the large fireplace, play a round of bridge, read a magazine or join in an organized activity.  In the other living room are inviting conversation areas, a baby grand piano and a stage to view music performances and live entertainment.

The library is full of books  for a wide variety of interests. So you can explore the shelves until you find the one that is for you.  It is a comfortable area to read or join in with the book club.  

The Fitness Room is available for you to have a good work out on the NuStep, treadmill, bike, elliptical and lift a few dumbbells.  There are a variety of exercise classes that you can join and enjoy!

You can play a board game, checkers, work a puzzle and/or shoot some pool in our gaming area.  In that same area you will find the movie theatre where you can enjoy some of your favorite movies.

At the Terrace Retirement Community, you'll enjoy delicious meals from our talented chefs that rival the best restaurants around Columbia. With three different dining venues to choose from, you'll have choices galore for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  

All three dining venues are available as full-service dining options in the evening with breakfast and lunch service in the Bistro.  At the Terrace, we believe delicious food, menu options and flexibility are all important. 

In the Bistro, try a pizza, a great salad, a sandwich or the featured entrée. Our Bistro serves three meals a day with full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. 

The Dining Room offers a little touch of formal dining flair with delicious menu items ranging from Salmon Salad to Filet Mignon. 

Join friends in the Pub for a drink, an appetizer or for dinner.  Open in the evenings, our Pub offers a warm, friendly environment.
